Newbie Considering Purchasing a 2013-2014 Panny GTS

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and currently researching the purchase of either a 2013 or 2014 Panamera GTS. Are there any issues I should be concerned with and what are some of the must have options? I did a quick build on both the Porsche website and on USAA's automobile purchase program site and the car I configured came up to around $140k (with about a $11k discount on USAA). I'll post my configuration/options once I download the summary. Are there any big changes between he 2013 and 2014?

Thanks in advance,
Tony

lots of changes from 2013 to 2014, the new front end and rear end will be incorporated. Can't take delivery of one for months though and I'm not sure if the GTS will be built right away or if in typical porsche fashion they will wait to release it. Unless allocations are different than on the turbo's you can't even build a 2013 anymore without finding a dealer who has an allocation that can still be modified, so you would have to find one already incoming that has all (or most) of what you wanted on it.

PDCC and Backup Camera are the only absolutely 'must have' options on the GTS.

I think the LCA is pretty darn handy too while proper mirror adjustment makes for great visibility, the LCA is a nice "safety net" I would also suggest the Sport Steering wheel over the MF one good luck

Nice build! A few things to consider dropping (to either save $ or get some other options instead):

- Wireless Internet Access. Your smartphone probably already does this for you. And given how quickly technology changes why pay all that money for a "slow" 4G hotspot built into your car when LTE or whatever else is next will be available right around the corner (LTE is already available on iPhones, etc.)

- PRSE. It's expensive and for 1/3 the cost you could get two iPads to hang off the seats (plus they would act as computers, gaming console, etc.). The PRSE just looks big and outdated to me already. I don't know how long you keep your cars but DVDs are already kind of "ancient" compared to Blu-Ray, digital download, etc.

Just my $.02. Otherwise, beautiful car!

Hello Tom,

Thanks I appreciate the advice, I just took a trip to the dealership today and they recommended that I wait until the 2014 year models come out. It's definitely hard to find a 2013 with the options I'm looking for. I'm also looking at the CLS63 and the M6 Gran Coupe, leaning very hard towards the Panny GTS, but the CLS63 with performance package is a"BEAST"!!

Thanks again
Tony

They might have removed it. Since it's an update, not all options will remain the same. Some might have been removed.
