I live in ontario and recently bought a PTT with heat and noise insulated glass, the transponder that i used to place on the previous car won't work thru the glass, any suggestion?

i looked up the manual and they indicated two tiny spots beside the rear view mirror where the transponder should be placed but it still doesn't scan.

 

I have the same problem, I just let them charge my tag. At least down here they do offer a front mounted plate, that will work, but I do not want to open holes.

Maybe you can ask and they might provide another solution.

The insulated glass wont let transponders nor laser detectors work properly.

 

They offer a front license plate transponder where I am at and that's what I use.

 

It works through the sunroof and thats where I usually hold it up when I pass through the gates to park at the airport. For toll gate, they capture my plates and charge it directly to my account.

 

you can clearly see the "cut out" area on both sides of rear view mirror
not large but good enough for passes and radar detectors

mine works fine there.

 

i put the transponder already right beside the rear view mirror, still no luck

 

Finally found a place to put the transponder and it will work, the sunroof, it's weird what this means, the sunroof is not insulated like other windows with the noise and heat insulation option.
