Alright peeps might be ordering 2015 GTS-help requested
I have a prelim build...will probably tweak this a few times. But a few questions: (thanks in advance)
1. do you wish for more power in this car? To me it feels pretty comparable to my Carrera S in terms of straight line acceleration. I just would love more room and AWD.
2. I'm just hoping for $3-$4k discount. That's really all I can expect from what I read.
3. PDCC and PTV- I am planning on ticking this option on this large of a car. Opinions?
4. Anyone have voice control? Porsche car connect? Not sure I will tick these.
Here's what I have prelim built:
Prem package
Carbon grey metallic
Leather interior in black with alcantara
side skirts painted
ParkAssist with reversing camera
Deletion of model designation on side doors
Side mirrors painted lower trim
PDCC and PTV plus
20" 911 turbo II wheels
LCA
Interior lighting package
Power sunblind for rear compartment
Sport chrono clock dial in white
Instrument dials in white
Seat belts in guards red
door sill guards in brushed aluminum
Pedals and footrest in aluminum
voice control
Bose

1 - The power is enough for me, but I live in LA where it is nearly impossible to drive faster than 45 mph on any flat surface, ever. The additional hp, tq, and top speed may be more useful for you if you reside in more open terrain.
2 - I believe discount depends upon dealer. Rusnak in LA started negotiations for GTS at $8k off of MSRP for 2014, last year!
3 - View my other posts re: my observations of PDCC. I read every Panamera related message board known to mankind prior to my purchase. Everyone said "It is a pure necessity if you track this car, and very helpful even if you do not". So I checked the box. After driving my car, an exact spec same model year GTS without PDCC, and another GTS and Turbo with PDCC to ensure mine was not broken, I walked away sadly realizing I noticed zero difference. Even in hard cornering in Topanga Canyon. This is my only regret for my purchase, having an option I can not verify is there. I wish I would have ordered the Carbon Fiber brakes instead. I would vote for Burmeister before this invisible marketing thing PDCC. But maybe it is me, a friend said you have to drive REALLY hard to have it kick in, like hairpin curves at 60-70 mph.
No thank you!
4 - I have voice control. It is neat to show off but I never use it, similar to my other cars. And as a fool I ordered Porsche Car Connect without reading fine prints: It only funciona with Apple/iOS devices. Not Samsung/Android :-/ So useless feature for me unless I use my daughter's iPad?

I agree with oscuro regarding the Burmester and PDCC. I would also go for CF trim, illuminated door sills (carbon or aluminum), crest in headrests. Great idea for lighting package - very much worth it on a car of this caliber. Everything else you picked is great.
Nice! Thanks, I wouldn't have known to check for it without reading this. Thank you, just found it on Google Play, looks like it went up just last Monday!

2. He's right. I got 5% off my ordered 2014.
3. I don't believe this is correct. There are many benefits to the PDCC other then just handling. Maybe this has to do with PDCC and PTV being in a larger profile vehicle, but the difference is noticeable. Is it night and day, I doubt it but can you tell that PDCC is working, YES. We have three 958 Cayenne's in the family and I am the only one with PDCC. All three drivers are pretty aggressive drivers and everyone that has driven mine Cayenne has walked away saying "Dang it, I should of got PDCC." Another benefit to owning a PDCC vehicle tire wear. I have tire wear on the middle of the tire on all 4 corners even with aggressive corning. The other two vehicles without PDCC show a lot faster wear on the front tires especially on the outside treads. I actually go a lot longer between rotations, and really...I probably don't need it.
4. Voice functions is not necessary. I would opt for the Burm instead and it's well worth the price of admission. Consider this... to get into a lower entry Burm for you home theater (Receivers, mono amps, floor standing speakers at a minimal 5.1 setup) it will set you back 100k easily. Being an audiophile, to get the Burm in a car for what Porsche has the price point at is a lot to most but I considered it a bargain to hear such quality go into a vehicle.

Thanks this is great info. I have PDCC in my 911 and honestly I like it. I'm trying to keep my MSRP on the GTS to 128k. Not sure burmester can make the cut.
I've spent massive amounts of time looking at the M5 comparisons and it kinda bothers me that the GTS loses the drag race. But I guess if I was that worried I'd get a Z06?
