Prior owner installed a nice back up camera that works fully with the PCM system on my Cayenne. I can't tell the brand, but know that it can be done. Works seamlessly and automatically (upon reverse).

Basic Panny comes with basic options. That is why you are paying low sticker.
You dont have a lot of options. They make wireless cameras that show picture on your phone.

But I have exactly what you are looking for.
Or you can go with http://tvandnav2go.com/porsche/45-po...interface.html.

If you go that route, you must see this video. Its a rear camera install DYI from http://www.nav-tv.com

Also, BE AWARE OF CPO.
Tell them to show you the CPO certificate and report. Check the report whats on it.
When I got my CPO car, they didnt want to show me a report giving me a whole bunch of excuses. Once I got the car, I got the report. One of the things was a REPAPINTED bumper (probably from rock chips). If I knew that I would have bargained better. I still got a good price but I would have more ammo to throw at them to get a lower price. So you must see the CPO report and what they changed.

Update: He replied within 5 minutes and provided a report. Anyone see anything I should be concerned with?

I've had the best experience with my Porsche CPO. There should be a full folder for the report that is quite detailed. He did provide the latest service report it looks like, that is the dealer's part to get certification. But more info is available. It doesn't necessarily mean he is holding out on you or not trying to be helpful, I don't think every salesperson has full access to all the books and records on every vehicle. But upon sale, I would expect to receive the folder. This shows what it looks like (most of the rest of the docs are my service records from my Transsyberia, but the report next to it, is the dealer service. The folder itself has a few more pages, for other areas, unrelated to service, but more to condition and history). At the bottom of my pic, the folder says "inspection checklist"

It looks like a clean car. So you should be OK. If you have a paint thickness meter it would help you bargain a little too. I use it when I buy my every used car. http://www.paintmeter.com/

My dealer didnt even present the warranty CPO books until I asked before signing papers. You know - they can sell you the car without warranty if you dont sign that CPO certificate. I have seen that happening. Im very careful about cars and dealer since I live in NY.

I just realized he emailed me 4 pages in pdf, not just what I posted above. Theres a huge list of things and all are checked off as pass, not fail. No signs of damage or modification. Also lists tread depth on tires and brake pad left. All looks good to me!

Wow Ive never even heard of such a tool. Amazing. I can imagine how it works on metal, but how about things like bumper plastics?

Perfect! Yes, that's the full report. What I love about Porsche is that the technicians, in my experience, tend to be quite detailed in comparison with the other luxury manufacturers/service depts.

Car dealers use this on everyday basis. Its a very old tool. I decided to spend the money on it and bargain with dealers for a better deal this way. Nobody will try to squeeze me a lemon next time. When I was getting my wife a CPO acura mdx, about 70% of them had at least 3 panels painted. Amazing what they try to sell you.
Porsche allows only 2 panels to be painted to pass CPO.

Tool works great on aluminium and metal. Not bumpers. That is something that it wont work on.

There are both mechanical / magnetic and high tech electronic paint gauge meters / tools. Different manufacturers paint to different thicknesses I believe, so, you are looking for panel variations.

They might range from $15 - $250 depending on the tool complexity and brand.

This coming saturday I will be trading my 2014 CLA45 AMG in for a CPO 2011 Panamera 4 with 16k miles on it. The CLA45 is a decent car but its 4 cylinder sound just haunts me. Its also a bit small. I like the size of the Panamera and its sporty curves and roomier interior, especially in back for the kids.. It will be my first Porsche in my 20 years of driving.

Just curious, how did you like the CLA 45 otherwise? Ride quality? Turbo lag? Acceleration? The sound I have to say is a little ridiculous... I am thinking of going the opposite way around. Lately the Panny has just been sitting in the garage, the boot doesnt fit a dual carriage with other stuff and we have a fast SUV now for trips with the kids, so I was thining of the CLA 45 just for my city driving for a while, just until I decide what to buy next (), lets say 6mo. I also want a car with minimum amount of tax (4 cylinder turbo is just right, with c02 values of 166). I was just wondering if I would be happy with it after the 997tt and Panamera Turbo...
