Lid for center cup holder

The center cup holder is nothing more for me than an exposed dust collector, so I'm making a lid for it to match my mahogany interior. That way I can store loose change easily with a beautiful lid to hide it. The lid is made from matching mahogany, and the grain looks just right, and I'm now in search of the perfect finish.

Very nice work. Should be fun trying to match that deep factory finish.

I hope you made extras because I would certainly wreck a few trying to match the finish! Looks great so far

I left it with a friend who knows a guitar builder and expert exotic wood finisher.

Just curious, how do you plan on lifting it out once it is finished with a high gloss finish?

Since it is a smooth circle resting on top of another smooth circle, it requires surprisingly little force applied to an edge and it just swivels up for grasping. No problem. Thought I might need a little ****, but no. Looks better smooth anyway.

Yes looks awesome the way it is made. Just thought with protrusion below to seat it, it might not pop up that easily, but if it does that is great.
