Do some reading. here you go. http://radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=100622
Do some driving. You don't know everything although you obviously think you do and your a jerk.

Yes they do leave it on, and yes a radar detector can pick up the KA band, and yes you can slow down before they actually get a read on your sepecific car.

If you don't like radar detectors great but you dont need to be a ****** and reply to my post being a derogatory jerk.

Do some driving? LOL Yeah ok. First off dont put words in my mouth. I never said a detector wont pick up ka bands. And I never said I know everything. But I DO know radar detectors do not work, as in be effective. Law enforcement changed over to instant on decades ago. And no it is not possible to react in a fraction of a second it takes for the gun to get a reading. You should read the link I posted. Stop being in denial. Radar detectors are only a false sense of security. Thats why any good shop that installs them also tells you to get jammers as well. Impossible to react quick enough. But go waste your money and think they work. Just like another poster said he gets tickets with his detector. Wonder why that is???

Radar detectors...

Wow. Very funny thread. I pick up KA band on my detector nearly every day. Cops leave it on as the drive or sit in speed traps. There are occasions where they use instant on to be more vailed. But 99% they are on. You are either very uninformed or just trying to be confrontational.

Another exception is laser (lidar) that only hits a single car that is targeted and in that case laser detectors don't help because it is too late.

And if you feel you are immune to speeding tickets because your wife is a cop. Then that is sign that you think all cops are hypocrites.

occasions where they leave the gun on? LOL Yeah ok. There is a reason the instant on was made. Was because everyone and their mother had a radar detector. Now EVERY gun made in the US for the past 20+ years have instant on. KA is ALSO used as instant on. And the KA bands you are picking up are almost always interference from other sources. Yeah sometimes they leave the gun on. Obvious sign they are not even looking to give out a ticket. 99% they leave them on? Im so glad you know what the police does. And they would NEVER meet their quota each month if they left the gun on. Common sense. Please do some research THEN come back and post a reply. You can start your reading here. http://www.wisegeek.org/do-radar-det...eally-work.htm and here http://radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=100622

Funny how every time I get KA "interference" there is a cop on the side of the road or driving towards me. Don't need to do research on the web when I see it myself and have for many years.

Appreciate that you know about feature on every radar gun sold over the last 20 years (as does the Pulitzer Prize winning author of one website article about radar detectors) and how every cop uses them. I will get my radar fixed so I can stop getting erroneous KA alerts every time I pass a cop with a radar, especially when it goes off 1/2 mile or more before I cross paths with him. Now I know that cops drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on their radar trigger to avoid being detected. Thanks for clearing that up for me and everyone else in America.

yep, sure you pass a cop when you get ka indicated. Funny thing laser is used much more often. But according to you, laser isnt used at all. LOL You dont want to do research cause you are in denial and dont want to know the truth. Prob one of those guys that had a detector for 30 years and still think they work. Theres a reason why very few people have them now days. Take one guess why??

The AL Priority is current state of the art. Here is the comparison to the Blinder

I have it and am very happy with it. Paired with a Beltronics radar head (integrated) gives great KA coverage (band selectable to eliminate false) and great lidar jamming. They update the firmware often to keep it update against the latest liidar gun types.

It is stealth mount (grill and rear of car) and therefore more costly to install. But once in its nearly undetectable or visible to most people. Lots of great info and comparisons here

Check out the AntiLaser Priority sub forum for pics of installs including Porsches like my Cayenne. Here is a pic of my grill area. Jammer up top (have one on each side only one shown in area covered by pic) and radar head near the bottom of the grill area.

There are tests all over showing it both ways.

I am sure there are multiple reviews that rate several units the best. I can only speak to what I own and love it so far. The chart from radardector.org you posted doesnt seem to have the new guns like the Dragon Eyes on there..but maybe I am reading it wrong.

The same site also says the ALP is the new king of the hill

That was an older test when the dragon eye first came out. Nothing at that time could jam it. But now both the ALP and blinder can. As far as I can tell these are the only 2 jammers that work.

He sure is grinding this axe down to just about nothing. Apparently likes to argue.

A hobby, maybe?

Wonder what he's compensating for?
