Dear guys,

i notice there is some 'wave grinding noise' on my panamera 4S v8.

it only happen on 7th gear from 1000rpm to 1400rpm when i put in a little load with my right foot.

attached is the video. if you notice the rpm needle actually skips a little and that is when the wave grinding noise is noticeable.

will need to turn on the volume to have better hearing

I had this problem on my '10 P4S a couple of weeks ago. I had 22" wheels on it and they replaced the transmission and blamed it on the tire diameter differential front to rear. There are zero 22" tires for these cars that fall within "spec" and I'm having to go back to 20's in stock tire sizes to avoid damaging it again. Tough pill to swallow, but I have no choice. Car had 35k mi on it and is babied when driven. Sad stuff.

When I say the same problem, I mean exactly the same. My video is identical and so was the noise.

I am having the same issues the rpm gauge is ticking a bit and when you give acceleration it makes that noise almost like you hit a rumble strip. has anyone figured out what this is?

I have a 2013 Panamera (3.6L) and I am experiencing exactly the same symptoms you mentioned. After taking it to change the oil of the PDK gearbox, I have the same problems in the 5th and 7th gears.

I am a bit puzzled and don’t know what could be wrong. I am not sure whether to complain to the place where I had the PDK gearbox oil changed or to take it to another workshop to have the PDK gearbox checked directly.

How did you solve your problem? Is there a solution? Is it worth it considering that PDK gearbox repairs are very expensive?

Thank you, I really appreciate yours comments/suggestions...

You need recalibrate PDK. This problem is on odd ratios.

Can you describe in more detail what the odd coefficient difference is? Were you ever able to fix this failure?

If you have clutch skating on odd gears (1000-1500 tr/mn) and tachometer needle oscillates it's an oil pressure problem inside gearbox.
First you need recalibrate PDK with piwis 3.

The fault with my transmission is mainly a grinding sound in 5th and 6th gear in the range of 1800-2500 rpm

This is a serious problem that no one has fixed, this grinding sound concerns AWD and RWD cars, so I suspect it has nothing to do with the front differential.

There is a thread on the internet, someone wrote that it has something to do with the fact that the ignition coils do not turn on because of the solenoids.

You write that it is a pressure error in the gearbox? What is this error and do I need to interfere with the replacement of seals in the gearbox? Will calibration alone fix this problem? Is the transmission software version incorrect?

Recalibrate pdk is not warranty, but it's the first action by porsche. The problem come on after 6/8 months generaly.
After you can try to change oil and put Total Fluidmatic DCT MV. A friend have change oil and he don't have problem sinc 15000 kms.
But if you have problem in 6th it's not this problem. This problem is only for odd ratios

The problem of grinding inside the gearbox actually appeared after 8-9 months, at the beginning I replaced the front differential, I thought that was the cause - inside the differential.
Only now I replaced the oil with filter in the gearbox, I thought that the oil level was not right.
However, everything went back to the beginning and it grinds even in 3rd gear - from 1500 rpm, above 3000 rpm the sound stops.
Will you assess this fault yourself, what should I do step by step?
I will add that the differential that I replaced has the same part number and the same gear ratio.
It comes to my mind in connection with the fact that I have 265/30/22 and 315/30/22 tires installed, they have differences in the tire circumference.
Does this affect anything?

Calibrate your pdk to see if the fault disappears.
This problem come on after oil refill on pdk and i don't know why
