Very early on Sunday morning I was heading back from the gym and since the roads were deserted and conditions were near perfect, I had the time to set up an acceleration run in my 2015 Panamera GTS. I thought the results were pretty good and very similar to my 991S.
Thought I would share.
Assumptions:
Roads dry & clear
Temperature: 42 degrees
3/4 Full gas tank
Driver Only, no passengers or cargo
Engine warmed up and at normal operating temperatures
Sport Plus engaged
Ride height at lowest setting
PSM OFF
Using Launch Control
iPhone mounted in a fixed bracket to eliminate false movement of the iPhone's accelerometer
Pocket Dyno app

I think lots of people routinely beat Porsche's factory numbers in virtually all of their cars. They seem to have a long history of publishing conservative performance promises.
Nice numbers!! Weather is great in Houston today for some similar runs! I tried searching for the Pocket Dyno App, but none look like the screen shots. Which one do you have? Thanks!
I would not trust that app. A 3.49 0-60 feels way different that a 4.0 0-60. My 2013 is definitely 4.0 just like all the GTS Pan review testing I have read about.
The car does rock though. It is a great car even when not going fast.
3.5 seconds is not possible in a Panamera GTS. Best car mag results were 4 seconds flat. 3.5 seconds is Panamera TTS territory. Try it again with a VBox.
Have not timed mine, but under 4 is much faster than I would think. To me the PGTS is about the total driving experience, which is phenomeonal, but not about stoplight racing. It is a beast from 20+, but I would not try to run AMG's, or M's. They would win on the straights, but not in corners. Good to know that you got such a good run.
Most of the magazine reviews...of all of the current Porsche models..... also expressed befuddlement with the center console stack of buttons. Apparently too much to figure out, perhaps even for some members here. One of them actually complained about not being able to turn off Auto Stop, which we all know is an ignorant statement.
The difference in the head-snap using launch control with PSM on and PSM off is pretty staggering. I can't held but wonder if their 4.0 times were with the car's PSM set to ON.
But whatever. As I said, it was with perfect test conditions, very early in the morning. Might not have the opportunity or interest to try it again soon, but thought I'd share. We all know the real enjoyment of the PGTS is in the overall drivability.
