The primary reason I settled on this car was because it was advertised as turbo s engine. It seems all the turbo s engines are marked turbo s on the top very visibly and mine just says turbo. Is there a way to confirm this from the engine ID number? Anyone know where to find this ID number. If it really is not turbo s engine then I have been swindled either knowingly or unknowingly and I definitely have to have a come to Jesus discussion with the dealer.... I like the car but... Any suggestions on approach?

ask them to put an ecu tune on it for you and you'll be putting down more power than a turbo S, easy fix for them and should make you happy

If the manifold is grey with carbon fiber writting than you have a ix80 kit , which is pretty much the same with a turbo S .

Changing a sticker from the top of the engine is very easy. I have seen people do that

They say it is an ix80 kit so maybe I'm in luck! Going to look at color of manifold and writing later after work.

so, the first engine had a big problem. the high pressure fuel pump seized, taking the engine with it. at the time, Porsche did not have any 970 turbo engines available. Porsche sent us a tts/power kit engine. we sent the client a copy of the invoice to prove the tts power plant being installed. its a heck of a car and deal. the client naturally had questioned the validity of us saying it is a tts engine, but after proving so, he is very happy. although a few people seem to think dealerships are out to get people and deceive them, we are transparent in our transactions. I invite anyone to give us a try.

I head up the Hoffman Porsche service team.

enjoy your 550hp monster

He is right about my uncertainty/fear of not getting what I paid for and they were VERY polite with my requests for more info finally confirming tHe power kit installation. That is a pretty good deal and the one I wanted👍. Sure did make me anxious until confirmed as all of you who have read the thread know. The whole power kit engine is just not well known.... Kudos to the gentleman who posted earlier guessing correctly it was an IX80 power kit. Whew!!

Driving a rental on a short trip and it is a huge step down in driving experience. Miss the Porsche.

I had the turbo recall done. Larger turbos and ecu upgrade, that is the only difference between ptt and ptts. If somebody is selling you a car with the ptts "engine" that sounds fishy...

Didnt read this thread to the end. BTW it has 540 bhp on paper. If it is an official porsche powerkit, the engine cover is silver and identical to the turbo s and the install is visible at a Porsche dealer. The standard engine cover I think is black.
