Long Shot - Anyone go from a Turbo S to RS7 or vice versa
Hi there guys,
I am looking to get back into a 4 door car. The last one I had was a 2013 Audi S6. I was pretty much set on a 2014 RS7, but a 2012 Panamera Turbo S has been catching my eye lately.
I am definitely a speed junky and love the performance of a high horsepower straight line vehicle. So, I think that these two cars are the only contenders, where a few weeks ago, there weren't any other options in my eyes.
Anyone have serious seat time in both, or owned both? Pro's and con's to both. I do plan to modify either one, but I still the the Audi will be much faster.
Thoughts?

I had a modified 13' S6 with over 600hp per the shop, not dyno'd. But it was night and day faster than stock.
A buddy who had the same car with same mods, got a RS7 and said the power and acceleration at different speeds felt the same but the handling and transmission were better in the RS7.
I was considering a new S8plus or benz S63 when a few people suggested a Tesla model S, the fast one. I said " no way ", it is over priced and not worth it. They said " shut up and drive it ". The test drive changed the way I look at cars. It is by far a faster more thrilling acceleration than any other sedan. The first 4 months I had, I didn't even want to drive my McLaren.

Yes, I did try the Tesla and is today driving a Panamera GTS.
Looking at only acceleration numbers, yes the Tesla is fast. BUT, in my opinion looking at all other factors such as building quality, driving capabilities, how luxurious the car appear the Tesla is far behind from both Audi and Porsche.

The interior of Audi and Benz (not porsche) is much more luxurious than a Tesla. But the smooth luxurious ride quality of the Tesla is as good or even better than a S class benz. That was my biggest hold up was the feel of the interior build and features seemed lacking for the price. But I enjoy driving it so much that I dont care about those other things. Plus the nav, autopilot and music functionality are far superior to the other top brands.
But again, Tesla is very good on a straight roads and if you don't enjoy the sound of a big V8

I will say I really like the 2011-2015 BMW 750iL M sport. A friend had one it was damn nice and bullet proof compared to the Chris Bangle gen. cars. No Porsche - but damn good.
OP, if you have an opportunity to get into a PTTS I suggest you go for it.
I totally disagree - the Tesla uses much more plastic in the cabin compared to Porsche, Audi and Benz. The Teala is good on straight roads, elsewhere it feels like a tank to drive. The audio system is also not comparable between the cars. The Bose or Burmeister audio system in the Panamera plays significant better compared to the Teslas system.

I meant the user interface of the Tesla is better with music and nav, the sound is good but not anywhere near Burmester. I had it in my CTT and it was better than I have heard in any auto period.
I don't really care about leather feel.

Not sure if you can compare the Tesla.
Plenty fast for a few times going straight, but not a sporty car and not really suite for anyone city driving for me (range does not allow for any trips..
280miles is an iCal number, but quite a bit less in the summer heat or winter cold (and god forbid after you accelerated twice).
In my opinion, big box inside, nicelydone and on par with a Lincoln, but a far cry from a luxury car

The handling is very sporty for a big heavy sedan. Not as great as a Panny GTS but compared to Audi, BMW and MB full size sedan, it sure is. Not trying to convince you to go buy one, but to say it doesn't belong in this discussion is not true either.
The biggest thing I love about it is the effortless and seamless ability to accelerate. I rarely punch it and do the 2.6sec 0-60, but to have 750lbs of tq available AFT (all the f'en time), it just makes driving around so pleasant.
I have my McLaren when I want a loud exhaust and real sports car experience.
So - I had a 2010 PTT for 3 years, and traded on a 2014 Audi RS7 6 months ago. Got rid of the Panny due to frequent mechanical issues.
Love the Audi - and there are some differences between the 2. I am working on a list of items and will post soon
