$s vs GTS question again

Hi Guys, I am interested in a used 4s with Air suspension, PDCC and PTV plus with sports exhaust system.

will this set up be similar to very diff to a base GTS ? I am more interested int he suspension and drive bit rather than power delivery as the NA GTS will any day be better than the 3.0 v6 Twin turbo of the 4S.

I am looking for sporty driving on country roads and like to lean more towards the comfort side most of the time.

your comments would be much appreciated

You can configure new and may find a very sport used 4S, but for me that's why the GTS exists. When I specced my 2015 P4S, I went luxury and comfort first, sport second. This included seat ventilation, which is impossible on Alcantara seats. Also, I do not like black wheels, which are standard on GTS. In the end I think you have to commit and decide, Sport or Luxury?

Good luck on your search!

I dont think i can configure the old Panamera anymore and the new one is out of my budget..
My question was mianly on this specific $s with those specs on which is for sale and the comparison in ride quality to the GTS. How much more lesss sportier would the 4s be with all those options compared to a GTS is my key question..

I have never ridden in a GTS, but I would assume at the risk of being an @$$ that the ride quality will be near equivalent. The differences outside of power will be aesthetics....go drive it...that'll tell you if you like it

The main difference in the ride may result from the nearly 30 lb front brake rotors used on the GTS. That's a good bit of weight for the shocks to control over bumpy roads.

First, I think that you will have a difficult time finding a used 4S with air suspension, PDCC, PTV Plus and sports exhaust (all of the options that you desire). On a GTS, air suspension and sports exhaust are standard, but PDCC and PTV Plus are an option. Even on a GTS, PDCC and PTV Plus are not commonly found, unless the car was custom ordered as I had done.

GTS is lowered by 10mm and slightly stiffer than a 4S. In comfort suspension mode with air suspension, it is a plenty comfortable ride for me. I prefer sport or sport+ suspension mode when cruising/carving the country roads, unless the road is rough.

With PDCC and PTV Plus, you won't feel or exploit these options unless you are pushing the car through the turns.

Not sure I understand your search or goals: you want all the performance options, like driving on country roads but prefer comfort? The Panamera is a big car that gets smaller the harder you push it on curvy country roads.
It is a great highway cruiser in comfort mode and a beast in sports plus in curvy mountains
The 4s is good for that if you have air suspension and sport chrono, the GTS is just better in every aspect but price (though you get it in resale eventually).

If you get a 4S with air suspension, PDCC and PTV plus, I bet you will be approaching GTS sportiness, but not quite, for the following reasons:

- A NA V8 in the GTS provides a very different experience than the turbo V6- including sound and responsiveness, although the V6 is a fun engine.
- Lowered ride height in GTS
- Different curb weights (4S is slightly lighter I think)
- Braking differences
- Slightly different calibration of suspension tuning, made to be 911-like in the GTS.

Hi,
I think i did not say it clearly and apologise for that. I have found an used 4S with PCCB, PDCC, Air suspension, PTV, Sports Exhaust, Sports Chrono, LED + PDLS, Entry and drive, soft close.

I just wanted to understand how diff this set up would be compared to a GTS.

I spend most of my time (70%) highway cusiing and would like a Sports tourer and i kow the panamera fits the bill especially with sir suspension. what my key question was on country roads or a hilly stretch when i push the car, how unsettled would a 4S with all those options be compared toa GTS.

I know i will not get the beautiful NA roar of the GTS but given the price range I am after, wanted to check if the 4S was almost as good.

This is a 2010 4S I put a $1K down payment on, until I found my 2012 Turbo. I was able to recoupe about $650 of the down payment. He offered the car at a lower price of $45K after I backed out. Really nice guy who has a boutique shop south of Atlanta. If I remember correctly, this car has 30K miles. If you want his phone number just PM me.

That is a very well optioned 4S. You will need to give it a test drive to determine if it fits your needs and the lower/stiffer suspension mode will make a difference.

I did and absolutely loved the suspension part. was not totally impressed with the 3.0 engine but not unhappy with it.
just wanted to get the opinion of this forum on the GTS suspension and ride quality. I think i will go ahead with the purchase.
