Bleeding Panamera4 brakes - pedal feel soft after
Bleeding Panamera4 brakes - pedal feel soft after
I did Brake bleeding/ flushing on my 2016 Pan4 today. Use Motive pump to deliver pressure to the reservoir. After finishing bleeding the brake system, I ran into brake issue. The pedal travel is too long and soft. I will need help from my son tomorrow after Easter service to pump the brake manually to get air out of the system.
I follow the instruction from http://www.insanegarage.com/bleeding...namera-brakes/ . I had no problem to use Motive pump with my 2014 Cayenne and BMW X5 in the past.
Did you have any brake problem after bleeding/flushing brake system with Motive Pump on your Panamera?
Thank You

No and I ve used the motive. Sure you didn t let it run too low when using the motive? Just do it again one way or the other and I think you ll be fine.
LOL, I just checked the link you posted and those are pics of me doing my 911.
Also you can gain air thru the drain cup side. Good idea to have a little fluid in the bottom of the cup up to the bottom of the drain hose to help prevent that. Keep that cup lower than caliper too.

Thank you for the kind note. I think you are right. I was distracted a little bit during the bleeding process I ran very low fluid on the reservoir on 1 front wheel. So the air is in. I redid bleeding the whole system, but the pedal still soft. I need a 2nd person to pump and hold manually. LOL ... Thank you for your pictures. Good Job.
Happy Easter.

Happy Easter to you too. You ll be fine, it s only air but it does need to come out. You will not hurt anything. Make sure you are starting at back right, then back left, right front and last left front.
The 2nd person method works too but you must be sure they don t let the pedal up until you are closed on the valve or again you ll get air.

Thank You cerbomark. Yes, I had my son and even my neighbor to help out to pump the pedal and bleed the entire brake system. It is a little better, but Pedal is soft and Spongy and hit the floor when I push the brake pedal. Yes, definitely I had air in the front left wheel the last wheel. I forgot to refill or bled it longer than necessary. I use my last 1l Porsche brake fluid today, and 1 1/2 l yesterday. I think I need to pull air and fluid out from bleeder valve due to too much air in the system. No PUSHING AIR OUT, I have No equipment to do that.
LOL ... my car is still under warranty, thank God. I just had some warranty works on my Pan4 from Flecher Jones Porsche dealer on Wednesday. My investment to SA and manager with my SF Giants and Sharks tickets, hopefully will help me. I will text them to let them know the problem and tow the PAN4 to FJ Porsche this week before the wife home from her biz trip.
LOL … I Play dumb and claim the brake pedal soft and Failure to hold the brake. The car is still STOP and No fluid leaking … Let see what they say and will update you. The worst case they will charge me $200 for bleeding the brake … Oh Well …

Done by Porsche dealer. Everything is good now. bleeding and remove excessive air. I probably take it to dealer next 2 years for brake fluid. It is $240, won't hurt my wallet. LOL ...
