Panamera turbo fluids questions
Panamera turbo fluids questions
Can someone fill me in on fluids please?
My questions are related to 2011 Pan turbo
1. What grade of oil do majority use (exactly what oem manual says or slightly different like cayenne for example)
2. What make of oil is best to use?
3. is trannie fluid sealed, and if so, how often is it replaced in miles?
4. Anyone done analysis on their panamera tran fluid? what make fluid is used, and are there alternatives to dealer make?
5. Same question about other major fluids in the car
Trying to get details early on, as I plan fluids change asap, check plugs/coils, brakes appear good.
Thank you.

1. Mobil 1 0W-40 (synthetic) is the Porsche recommended oil.
2. Search for "Porsche approved oil".
3. PDK fluid change is a 60K mile service.
4. PDK fluid equivalent is Pentosin FFL-3, requires 6qts (?).
5. 2011 recommended service schedule here.

It would be good to know what the procedure for doing transmission fluid changes for Panamera. On a Cayenne you have to refill transmission fluid at specific temperature, so I assume on the Panamera it will be the same. It would be great for anyone to post up procedure for a transmission fluid change so we can all benefit. Thank you.
Regarding the amount of fluid, I would bet you have to empty it out then start the car around it for a short time to make sure more of it comes out as you shift the gears, to maximize drainage. After that you would be able to refill it with the specific amount listed. Again it will be great to know the actual process as listed in the service manual.

Awesome. Thanks. Looks like the process is same as Cayenne. Measure fill qty at 40C, shifting between gears few times to ensure right fluid level. Once fluid starts spilling out, it is proper fill.
It is a messy process, so anyone doing, cover the floor under to catch fluid.

Someone on cayenne forum actually did chemical analysis st new and after intervals of use, snd found the castrol syntec edge suspended particles better and lasted longer. Its been few years since I dug into this, but remembered it.
Thanks very much for the list of fluids, parts. Will come useful very soon.

I will start with 5W40. Will run Castrol Edge Synthetic.
Used it on Cayenne turbo without any issues and should be perfect for this car too. Has the Porsche A40 certification.
We will see what happens after few months.
