I disconnected the plenum which appears to have all of the sensors we'd need to worry about. I'm not sure if its technically a hot wire MAF or what. There are a lot of forum discussions on Porsche valve cleaning. Not so much Panamera specific but they are part of some discussions.

Its not rocket science. I just figured lets do a little preventative maintenance for carbon built up along with the rest of the things we do! Maybe its snake oil, but clearly the carbon buildup is an issue as is the AOS malfunction.

Video on plenum removal I used.

Before and after:

Good information:

With Direct Injection, fuel is injected to the cylinder and never touches the intake valve. Fuel additives or high detergent gasoline, as a result, will not address carbon build up at the intake valve. Fuel additives and high detergent gasoline only helps with fuel delivery systems that enter via the intake valve.
