Dear God. I bought an '01 Z06 back on 2009 w/ 30k miles on it and that was my daily driver until 3weeks ago and only hit 140k miles (50miles/day minimum commute) before getting my 2013 GTS. That's an astronomical amount of driving.

Keeping the thread relevant to the Panamera, when I had my (only 71,000 mile) 2012 Turbo-S serviced last week, the dealer gave me a ride home in a 171,000 mile 2011 Panamera S. The condition of the car seemed as good as ever.

We hear the occasional horror story on forums like this as with any car, and there is always that fear that something bad will happen, but it appears statistically that most Panamera's are perfectly capable of racking up serious miles if properly treated and maintained.

 

Based on what I see on Cayennes, that share lots of technology with Panamera, I can say I am not afraid to see 200, 300 or 500k on these cars over time.
Key is to properly maintain. Once you start slacking, you rack up more and more items to maintain, and over time have a long list of to do items. Then, you get scared and sell the car.
Stick to your schedule. Will be just fine.

yes, occasionally you hear the story of terrible stuff happening. However remember - you will never hear the stories of nothing happening, because those who are happy wont go onto a forum to say 'hey, my car is running just fine'.
So keep things in perspective, and know Porsche has incredible record for reliability, compared to many other brands. Often they do not get compared because Porsche is outclassing pretty much all other cars in terms of price/quality, etc, so other manufacturers do not compare. Comparing Porsche to Ferrari, Lambo, Mas, etc, IMO it is the only daily drive capable super luxury car.

 

what type of maintenance should you be keeping up on? spark plugs, oil change, pdk transmission fluid change, ?

IMO you need to MAKE SURE you have frequent and reliable service for all major fluids. Oil, PDK, front final, rear diff, PDCC/steering fluid, coolant, brakes. All this with using proper fluids, genuine or at least equivalent.
Pay close attention to any items showing wear or signs of damage and replace asap.
That is why doing as DIY is very critical - you get to see it all and can anticipate, not react.
