the dimmable ambient light option

I am trying to add that feature. It is one of my favorite options. I saw on my friends car and it is very nice when you are driving in dark. It is a package that dealer says it cannot be added later.. it turns on the foot lights and some led strips on the doors too.
The main feature is the overhead dome led light that gets on but dimmed at dark while you are driving and it very nice. You need to experience it to see what I mean. To activate it there should be a button on your overhead console.

i am thinking to buy an overhead console with that button on eBay to see if I can get it to work. I want to switch the whole console with mine. It probably needs programming too .
any input?

I have a Cayenne with the light design package and it is AWESOME at night. Now with other P-cars without it - you can hold down the dome light switch in the overhead console and release at a certain time and the floor and center lights will offer a dim glow. It's not the same but does offer a similar effect. (obviously no cool door panel lights)

Yes I totally agree. My wife’s Cayenne also has it. That’s why I know how good it is at night. The regular dome light with halogen bulbs are very yellow. I didn’t even like it to turn it on. So I changed it with Led which is very white and bright but not dimmable.
i bought one dome console from eBay and I am hoping I can swap it with mine .

you need a Piwis II to program the front and rear electronics unit.
It didn’t work for me as well but it did work for my friend that have 2014. Mine is 2013.
my wife has 2013 cayennes and it works for my wife’s car though.
Does yours memorize it to stay deem or you need to push it every time you drive the car?
Anyway before you program it you never know. you need to program with Piwis II to work properly.

yes my wife’s cayennes works and it should memorize it. You won’t need to push it every time. As I said before you need to use Piwis II to program it. Rear electronics to accept the new dome light and works automatically. And you need to program the front electronics to activate the foot lights.
you need to buy Piwis or ask a shop that has to do it for you . It takes just 2 minutes.
