So when you say dealer 'wont honor that number' you mean if you buy a fob not from dealer, they wont program it for you?
Trying to see if I should bother. Saw places that sell these, but if dealers dont program anything other than what they sell, we will all be sol unless we also buy the fob from dealer.
Talk about being rolled over a barrel.

Got the correct part for my VIN: 970.637.947.10

Anywhere from $265 - $295 unless you get it online where most have been discounted to about $185 - but your dealer isn't going to honor that number.

I have a quote for programming of $120 from a reputable Porsche place.

Magus is infamous around these parts
No, I meant that I doubt the dealership will offer a transponder/key for $185. My dealer, who really should have provided two keys when I bought the car, has only offered an outrageous all in (key/trans/programming) number of ~ $700(!) but this came from service and not from my sales rep - who I am sure is going to do right by me .

At this point, I'd be happy to spend the $185 and have them program it for me for free to maybe even the one hour $100 charge. We'll see.

It is important to get the right trans/key part number using your car's VIN.
