Air Strut Replacement at 45k???
Is 45k Miles too soon for a strut to need replacing? I just replaced stabilizer link and all control arms and bushings are fine. Sound slightly went away but over big bumps it sounds like a bad strut/ strut mount (which I believe only come together) Any input is appreciated before I go out and buy a set of new front struts.

Air struts may need replacing at 45k.
All depends on symptoms.

Low hanging fruit is compressor noisy, suspension very low, leaking struts.

Awesome write up. My indy tech was going to look into smaller components that could have failed, but at this point replacing air strut would be avoiding the inevitable. Your posts are priceless. Thank you

If you do not see errors about low suspension, no noises from compressor, but only hear squeaking sounds when going over bumps, I would say either of the following is culprit:
- upper control arms
- lower control arms
- sway bar bushings
- sway arm links
Clunking sounds are more often than not result of upper and/or lower control arms bushing failure. Replacement is the most viable option. Upper arms, you cannot see the bushings until arm is removed. Once removed, it is just as expensive to just put new one in, than reinstall old one. Lower control arm sometimes can be seen failing but again is hard to do unless you remove the part. Again, replacement is most viable option.
If you hear squeaking (like old mattress), then it is very likely your sway arm bushings are old and need replacement.
If you see your suspension taking long to raise/lower, uneven level on some corners, compressor noisy or not working, etc, you likely have air suspension system failure and would need to do some PD (my thread should help), or have a shop look at it then replace.
Doing repair in shop venue will be pricy if you need air shocks replaced.
