Hi, my diesel 2014 panemera is making a disturbing winding up noise when cold which emintaes from the front left wheel arch, it stops once the car is warm. I now know that this is coming from an auxillary heater (which i wasnt aware of and dont need as the Uk is not that cold)

In addition to the winding up noise it can on occasion (cold start followed by short journey) send out a plume of smoke from the little exhaust that apparently serves the auxillary heater.

Any help / advice on the best way of tackling this?
