It is also highly likely you want to replace the upper control arms (Porsche calls them trailing arms) if you have a crunching noise. Crunching sound went away after replacing the respective sides.

Best of luck!
Thanks! This is as far as I have accomplished so far. LOL

At least quick jack works

I rather work on motorcycles instead of the Porsche. What a pain in the rear. Lol

Wait a minute. The part number you provided is the complete unit.

I'm referring to this:

“Here is the parts list of things you will need IN ADDITION TO the bag assemblies”.

What is the “bag assemblies “ you are referring to?
I want to replace the o- ring not the entire unit.

Part of the reason it took such a long time last year when I initially had this leak problem was the parts guy initially told me it was a complete strut but the next time I called it was just a bag. (I highly doubt he's pulling our legs and it was a complete strut that he got)...

Those are the bags - not the complete strut assembly. AKA "Air Springs". If you are just replacing the seals, you don't need them. I installed new airsprings, too. There are essentially two components to these assemblies: The strut and the airspring, plus all the components required to make them function as one unit.

Edit: Slap a jackstand under the rearmost upper lip of the quickjack when it is raised. The chances of anything happening are wildly slim, but better safe than sorry.

So I don't need the airspring or bellows? Great. If it doesn't work, I'll replace the entire unit.

You might need the bellows. Both of mine were destroyed during the disassembly process. They had welded themselves to the strut housing.

Thanks for the details Shrike. Just got mine on the lift and about to dig into it. The passenger side is leaking from around the top nut and bottoms out when sitting for a couple of days.

Pics! Severely cracked rubber with only 23k miles on it.

Hmm, wonder why this is leaking...

It looks like the cracked bushing could be pressed out and a new one pressed in but I can't find any individual parts like that anywhere. So I guess I'll have to order new air springs. With the dry rot I've seen here I think new ones will buy some peace of mind.

Car is back on the road with a Suncore air spring (I reused my shock since it's low mileage and looks perfect). The air spring came with new O rings and lower bellows. Super easy to put back together. I swapped in a new upper control arm since mine had been making noises and now it feels like a new car again!

Parts installed with no leftover bolts or nuts!

All finished with new lowering links also.

Hey @The M! Nice to “see” your car! Looks amazing with the new lowering links installed! Those RS Spyder wheels look awesome on your lowered ride! Glad they worked out and thanks again for the smooth deal! BC links pimping out a FL Panamera! Love it!
