Clogged Drain Holes- Anyone had issues?

I was watching a panamera video and they mentioned on the annual service the most important thing is clearing the drain holes on the panamera. they specifically showed a couple drains beside the tailgate latch/licence plate lights. I checked those drain holes after washing my car and I did notice that when i put my finger into one of the drain holes it had some junk in them that I couldnt get all the way out.

should i get a small tool to pluck the junk out as best I can? If I blow compressed air into the hole might it push the junk further up the drain hole which would do me no good? I know there is another drain hole underneath the gas cap and that one also has standing water after I wash the car...when i put my finger near that hole i cant even feel the hole opening so maybe its clogged as well?

Anyone else had these issues? I am thinking with these cars now getting older some people might have had issues with these clogged drains. whats the best way to unclog these holes? anywhere else i should check?

Weed whacker (strimmer) wire for most of them.
I’d add sunroof drains and the cowl drains to the list.

so its same for the panamera as the cayenne? i have to remove some parts to get to those other cowls?

for the gas cap hole i cant even feel the hole, should i just stick a wire through until it unplugs the hole?

i was also thinking of getting a compressed air can, do you think that would work to blow in the drains?

Yes, very similar.
Yes

No, It might split the pipe/separate joints. (It’s only thin rubber/Silicone hose) But it’s up to you, it’s your car! If it were me I’d pour water down all the drain holes and see if it comes out somewhere. If it does great. If not, start prodding. Carefully.

Was it Porsche tech on YouTube haha? Ive been watching his videos and want to locate and clear all the drains as well. I did the rubber weather seal cleaning and conditioning and noticed most of the squeaking is gone.

@sunnyc, can you please provide a link to the Porsche tech YouTube video you referenced above? I’m interested in this as well. Thanks!

I love his videos.
He uses an air line to clear the drains, so it must be ok then!
