Do you have history on the tranny? Oil change history, ormther repairs, etc. No history other than oil change would support shift sensors if assisted by codes.

What error codes do you get?
are they same as ones I was getting?
dealer will tell u to replace transmission as they can charge you 30 or 40k for new one or 20k for used.plus labor.
once does not drive, how does it get fixed to drive?.
if your codes ar3 same, it's the shift sensors, if no grinding or bad noises, car just cannot drive, then it's shift sensors even more.

Yes it's important to have dtc codes.
No problem it's possible to repair PDK gearbox.

Someone has fixed the same issue by replacing the PDK module only. https://www.ebay.com/itm/355956390191]this is an easy fix
