PDK Filter/Pan Replacement

I am doing a PDK Filter & Fluid change as I am at 80k miles on my 2013 GTS. (Bought used so although it's early, I'm doing the filter now vs just a flush)
Does anyone have experience on the Vaico Brand vs OEM?
I've seen mention that they are the same, but want to be safe with this PDK.
Thank You

I bought and used the Vaico PDK Pan, 60K miles ago, for my 2011 PTT. It's been fine with no issues, and now it's time to do it again! I did not DIY. This time I'll buy from FCP Euro so I can get it for free, next time, at 180K miles.

Awesome, Thank You for the info... Happy to hear it's worked out fine for you. Guess I will stick with it.

I also bought from FCP Euro, so I can get a "free" one if I ever replace it. I went with OEM. Yes, the OEM is more expensive, but only $110 more. I was more than happy to pay the extra $110 for the peace of mind considering it is a once every 60k miles service and a used replacement PDK is $5k ~ $10k.

If you are replacing the pan/filter, you will need more than the recommended 8 liters of fluid. Mine took a full 10.

I had that exact same thought and went with the Genuine OEM as well...Figured it was a cheap "insurance" for the PDK...as you said, it's a small amount o pay considering the cost of the PDK.
Thank you for the heads up on the fluid...I have 9 quarts, so will get another to be able to top off

I am thinking to do PDK full service for my 2016 Pan4s, 73K now. Porsche FJ dealer quotes $1150 with 10% discount. In term of monitoring the temperature, do you use any diagnostic tool to monitor the temp beside PIWIS? PIWIS3 is $799 from VXDAX without the laptop. based on what I learned from other member in the forum, PIWIS3 clone from China is not Plug-n-Play with your old laptop. Durametric is useless.

FOXWELL NT510 Elite for Porsche? does it have temperature monitoring for Porsche PK and Tiptronic? I have another Porsche, I can use.

Many thanks for feedback.

I use iCarSoft POR V3.0 and it can monitor the fluid temps and is cheaper...Not sure if the previous versions do the same such as V2.0, but I suspect they might.
This tool has helped with Oil Reset, TPMS, other calibrations and Code checking...highly suggest it if you do any wokr on your car.

I have Duram's Bavarian Technic for BMW. I got a BMW Performance upgrade that included a DME swap. I couldn't do much with the car afterwards...

I believe the official seller on Amazon is OBDZON. Anyways I don't have any experience with iCarSoft I confess. But regarding Foxwell it is not equal to PIWIS BUT I got my money's worth just replacing the front left strut. You can check all the available functions here:

Thank you so much, Dr.Ciaka. Yes, I pull this information out from Panamera Service manual as well, I am ready to GO. My durametric does not have temp feature, I need a Tester either PIWIS or FOXWELL or iCarSoft POR V3.0. Porsche charges $1150 for this work. Like to save $ by DIY.

A few/couple of notes. (I did not replace the pan with built in filter):

The drain plug spec is 15 Nm + 3 Nm. (FYI 15 Nm first, then 18 Nm last)

Before Porsche made tech info available only to shops, I got some instructions on this, and file is dated (2020):

Watch temperature of sump/ATF fluid until 40 C + 5C, (why not just say 45 C)?

Shift to P, turn off engine and wait 2 minutes.

Open fill plug and add fluid until "oil overflows".

Install new filler plug. When I opened up the filler after waiting exactly 2 minutes it was dripping out quite rapidly. I waited until it slowed a little and then installed the new plug, or did it get faster? (Sorry I forgot. Anyways I plugged it while it was dripping out).

I did not turn off the suspension control. I left all four wheels on Rhino Ramps, (a test of nerves/bravery). Because my driveway is sloped I used the active suspension to hopefully keep the car level....
