Angry Panamera turbo shacking at high speed

Hi all!
I have an issue with my car as recently has started to shake very bad especially on motorways above 40mph..at some point it gets soo bad that you need to slow down
I have seen few threads opened here with the same issues but it seems nobody has found a resolve for this?
Few things to mention..it doesn't do it all the time it's on/off
If it does it if you stop for 10 mins then it's fine to drive for another 10-20 mins before its' start again
If you put the car in neutral when it does it then it stops completely!
Must be something to the drive train/gearbox as the whole car is shacking not just the steering wheel
Anybody had this problem and managed to find a solution?
I was reading one forum member has spent 7k and the problem was still there?
This must be a common problem as it seems there are 3-4 threads opened with the same issue
Thank you in advance!
John

This sound like bad motor mounts or bad transmission mounts. What year and how many miles on the car?

It's 2015 and 78k miles
I don't think it's that to be honest..doesn't make any sense? Why would it stop if you let the car parked for 10 mins and it won't do it again only after few miles
Must be something surely with the drive train?4x4 system?
The gearbox works perfect so i don't think it's where the problem coming from

Need tires balanced or bent wheel. 95% of shaking are caused by those two

99% sure it's not that otherwise would do it even in neutral
It only does it when it's in drive and only sometimes

Had an RS7 that does that, turned out of the wheel was bent. Bought new wheels problem solved. My daily nissan does similar, got the tire balanced solved. Cheapest option is the tire balance, start somewhere because for all we know it could be suspension issues with wear and tear. Each of the problem i mentioned will lead to car shaking. Im sure there are other things that will lead to shaking like others have stated. If you’re 99% sure then good luck

Tire balance was done 300 miles ago and the problem is still there.I'm saying 99% as describing the problem to local garages they have confirmed it's not the wheels or tires. I'm only asking so that would save time and money taking the car from one garage to another. I have seen other people had exactly the same issue so that must not be to tyres or wheels related as in the other threads someone went to extension of changing the wheels with brand new ones and the problem still there..must be something else?

I have the exact same issue, they change the engine mounts and balanced the tires but the problem still is there. Mine starts at speed over 110km/h but not always but it is there most of the times. It is very annoying and I don’t know what to do.

It stopping when in neutral rules out the tires or wheels being bent. When the vibration happens, if you juke the car left to right quickly, does it go away? What about on a long sweeper curve? Does the vibration stop when you let off the gas or only when in neutral?

It seems to do it worse when steering to the right and no it doesn't stop if you let off the gas or accelerate. I have spoken with my local indie and they also rulled out the wheels and tyres. It would need investigation but i'm just worried i'm gonna end up from one garage to another with loads of parts being replaced and the problem still there. It's either something major or minor and hard to investigate from the start😶

They balance my wheels so it wasn’t due that. When let Gass off it get actually way worst. The first 10 or 15 it looks ok and it get worst then. I think it also get worst if road a little steep up. On slop down I didn’t feel it too bad today but I have try it again tonight.

Your Porsche dealer or a really good indy will have a 4 corner vibration sensor unit. They can track down which corner the vibration is originating from. There was a person on here with a bad vibration and it turned out to be a wheel bearing. In your case, I'd start looking at the transmission and general driveline. Hook the PIWIS to the car and watch the transmission clutch parameters. Also have the tech drop the belly pan and carefully inspect the guibos on the driveshaft as well as the center carrier bearing. That would be a good place to start.

In cold weather, when you first start and drive the car in the morning, if you go over a speed bump or big dip do you hear a crunch sound from upper left/right side of hood? (From the driver seat)...

yes It does but mine is all the times not just at cold. When I go over speed bumps i can hear a crunch from both front sides. I was going to ask next time I go for service they check it out. I think it should be from suspensions. Mine is not air suspension.

I notice with the 20" wheel option the upper control arm bushings last about 50k mi. (It does not matter air or coil suspension). Then at high speed the car feels horrible (even just one side as the other side was replaced about 1 1/2 year prior).

Very likely the upper control arms need replacing. I replaced the air strut at the same time with an Arnott unit because I already had to remove the strut to get to the upper arm. Try those first....
