Just wanted to share a DIY I did because I got pissed with my LED bulb order specifically to upgrade the turn signal incandescent PH24WY bulbs to LEDs on my 2010 Pan S 970 non-turbo. The seller sent me the wrong kind of bulbs so I just decided on modifying the existing PH24WY receptacle to accommodate and sit a T15 LED bulb. Besides, the connector of the Panamera PH24WY will not fit since its proprietary and any aftermarket PH24WY connector wouldn't really be compatible with it.
Hope this somehow helps or gives an idea to you guys wanting to upgrade to LED turn signal lights.
1st step is to take out the consolidated turn signal, park light, DRL assembly from your bumper. There are 3 torx screws that fastens the assembly to the bumper. The fastest way to take them out is to take out the plastic bottom protective coverings directly under the light assembly to gain access to all the screws from underneath. You also have to take out the whole assembly from underneath. No way you can pull the assembly out anywhere else.
2nd step is to pull out the PH24WY bulbs by turning them clockwise. Be careful there's a small plastic locking mechanism which easily breaks but that's no biggie...Even if you break that....it will still lock in place when re-installed.
3rd step is pull out the green and the black wires connected to the PH24WY bulb connector by using a toothpick or a metal pick tool pressing on to the exposed pin lock and simultaneously pulling the wires. Then proceed on prying out the bulb and the plastic receptacle...
4th is to start the mod with the bulb. Simply pry out the glass bulb by using your pick tools on both sides so that the bulb will pop out a bit. After the bulb pops out a bit, you can now pull the bulb out completely until the lead connectors slide out of the silo. You will probably need a long nose pliers to jack the bulb up.
5th: After you pry out the glass bulb, its now time to pry out the plastic receptacle. Again, use your metal pick tool to pry it out. You will feel some resistance and something will break but don't worry it's all good.
6th: When you have the base in your hands without the glass and the bulb receptacle, you can now insert the T10 BULB HOLDER. Don't use a T15 BULB HOLDER because it WON"T FIT. A T10 Bulb holder can hold a T15 Bulb so. Also, choose a T10 bulb holder made of rubber so that it can easily be forced in the remaining base. you also have to align it the right way so that your T15 LED bulb will be vertically positioned (not horizontal). Use any kind of epoxy super glue to secure the T10 bulb holder.
Well that's about it! You can now install your ORANGE OR YELLOW T15 LED BULBS WITH CANCELLER (CANBUS) to avoid having that dreaded computer error of course!
Re-install back into the Turn Signal , Park Light DRL assembly and make the necessary connections to the green and clack wires...
Do all of this 3 more times and reinstall all your light assemblies back on your bumpers and you're done!
Hope this gives you guys an idea on how to upgrade those outdated incandescent turn signal lights :-) Cheers!
