Panamera gearbox issues
Panamera gearbox issues
Over the last few months I have had an intermittent issue where there has been a delay in changing gear resulting in the car moving after what sometimes seems an eternity. I have generally avoided using the car and it seems now the gearbox cannot decide what gear it needs to select sometimes selecting 6th gear when the car is stationary. My first thought from doing a bit of reading was it probably needed a fluid change as I cant find a record of it being done (car has done 110k miles). However I read the fault codes and I have P072100 Sensor for transmission output speed implausible signal and P073100 incorrect transmission ratio codes coming up. I've spoken to an indy near me and they have said fluid change is pointless and it will be a gearbox rebuild.
Is this likely to be the outcome and should I expect an expensive repair bill?

Ciaka has a thread describing replacement of the sensors internal to the PDK to resolve operational issues. That is about all you can do with a PDK for repair. I’m not aware that these can be rebuilt due to lack of replacement parts (in the US). Agree that changing the fluid will not fix the problem.
