Walnut blasting intake valves first time. Any advice?

Hi all,

I’m preparing to replace the y coolant pipes, i have the manifold intake off and I discovered how dirty my intake valves are.

id like to try walnut blasting, but just want some tips. It seems pretty simple and probably same procedure amongst all DFI engines. Basically closing the valves and blast away.

i plan to close the valve manually via the crankshaft pulley. Anything else I need to be careful of? Any tips is appreciated as this is my first major service. I usually just do oil changes and brake pads.

I’ve scoured 6speed and rennlist YouTube as well as cayenne forums to learn more but there’s not much info regarding walnut blasting.

I’ve attached photos if you wanna see what they look like on a 2011 s 95k miles.

Thank you all!
