We can meet somewhere else if you guys want, but this one was mentioned and I thought that it was a good starting point since nobody else really made a definitive time and place. Then we can meet at the Sagebrush Cantina between 11:00-11:30 for late breakfast/early lunch afterwards. The address to both places is below. Now all that's left is for someone to make a map of the route we can use and make enough copies to pass them out to everyone when we're at the Jack In The Box lot incase anyone gets seperated, we'll still be able to meet up afterwards. Also, does anyone have space for a passenger? My P-car's getting some wiring worked out and my Scion tc isn't the most fun car for this kind of a run. I'd love to sit shotgun in a TT or a GT2 just because I've never been in either but have always wanted to! This will be fun, my first time meeting fellow 6speeders. See everyone on Sunday and drive safely!

That's not the route, and that is not the location where the cars were stopped. That is where we met.

Well, let's see. That's not the route, but you did post that you guys were organizing a run in the Malibu canyons and would be meeting at a specific place to do so and then you get OWNED and wonder why...the two may not be connected but it certainly did not help you out...many members here warned you...

HEY YOU KNOW WHAT ALL OF YOU ARE JUST PLAIN WRONG...

They pulled us over because they wanted to...hell they just looked for a good group of guys to be f$@King a#$holes too... thats it point and case...

What kind of society do we live in if a group of guys/gals want to gather together and do a group sunday drive... then we all got pulled over cause they felt like it... NO BIKES WERE PULLED OVER... check the threads another guy had a CHP guy ask if he was with the GROUP OF PORSCHE's... ITS BULL.. And as my family contributes HEAVILY TO THE COMMUNITY/LAPD/SHERIFF/CHP....Then i feel some RESPECT is in order... THEY IMPOUNDED MY CAR... WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THAT... i didnt break the law... I didnt do anything stupid...All i did was get a group of buddies together to go on a mountain drive...

SO what you all telling me FRIENDLY DRIVING is going to be prohibited... gosh...

Sorry for the RANT...but it's bull.... FRONT LICENSE PLATES... thats the biggest BS pull over ever...

Sorry for the rant again

Tuuner this goes for you too!
No need for you guys to be asses about it. Sounds like you get off on the fact that your fellow 6speeders got hasseled, I'm sure you don't, however with your condescending posts and remarks, it sure seems like it. I've been on many runs with the Pelicanparts guys. We've posted the full route online and have never had any problems. So posting start and finish points had zero to do with today's misfortunes. They are definitely starting to crack down on the canyon runs though, as witnessed today. When Swami and I were being towed (thanks to a left front flat tire) back to Jack In The box, where my car was, We saw about 20 bikes along 3 cops and a couple of tow trucks, so it looks like they aren't just cutting down on us. But notice they didn't get anyone from our group for speeding? When did it become illegal for people to drive casually for a nice scenic drive through the canyons? I understand the need to keep those canyons safe, but maybe they should designate a few roads "Bicyclists and pedestrians prohibited" this way they can "look the other way" and realize these will be for the auto enthusiasts. Now if people are flying off the cliffs every weekend, then yes a crackdown for a short time is in order, but that's not the case here. I mean yes they do happen, but the most recent that I'm aware of, was a group of high school kids that were drunk late at night. Hardly a group of driving enthusiasts for a sunday drive. These roads have been used for decades in this manner and are part of the famous SoCal car culture. Write your city congressman, let them know how you feel about the front license plate tix or them virtually taking away our right to drive freely (within speed limits) through these PUBLIC roads. Rant over. When all is said and done, it was nice seeing everyone's cars (except mine as it's in the shop for about another week and a half) I'm glad everyone is safe and no cars were harmed. Some fix it tickets, a flat tire and an impounded car are unfortunate, but no injuries or damage to anyone's rides. Next time it'll be better planned and yes next time I think we'll definitely PM start location, route and ending point (just to be safe). Also, I think we'll have to keep out of the Canyons in the 'bu for a while as they are teeming with black and white parasites.

The only asses on this thread are those that failed to listen to other respected members when they informed you of the risk you were taking...when this becomes a reality, as it did for your group, you get defensive...we know from experience, but you did not listen...so stop being an internet tough guy and be a good member...

Internet tough guy, hardly. Good member? Always. as for listening to "respected" members, if we listned to every "respected members" of society, we'd still be heavily taxed Brits and nobody would have a car that could go above the government regulated speed limit as there's no need to. I'm not defensive about people "warning us" or giving constructive advice. However, I am offended and get defensive to condescending remarks like "owned" or "told ya so". If you're a tuner, then maybe you should be more cogniscent of your statements and not belittle the same people who you wish to have as customers and offer up supportive statements which would have been more in order, yet say the same thing, such as "sorry to hear about that guys, this is why I stay away from the canyons" or something to that effect. Notice it's basically saying "I told ya so" but much more TACTFULLY. You're an upstanding and valuable contributor to this forum and I've got no personal beef with neither you nor barebones, I just didn't like the manner and tone of your statements. I'm not taking anything personally and don't hold grudges. It's just as simple as I haven't been through the canyons in quite a while as my car's been in the shop for even longer. I didn't organize the event, infact the guy who started the original thread didn't even show up.

More Malibu Canyon runs? Probably not anytime soon, lesson learned. I hadn't realized how infested these roads have become. Even with it's black and white infestation, legal driving on public roads with observances of posted speeds should not be an issue and we had nothing to worry about if everyone was law abiding. Unfortunately there are some horrible citizens who refuse to wear their government appointed numerals on their faces, they must be taxed, arrested and disposed of, god knows what kind of havoc they cause! Anyway, to both you and barebones cheers, we're all here for the same reasons I hope. Which is to learn and contribute to this forum in a POSITIVE manner.

numerous peopel here have told you that they crack down on canyon runs in malibu we warned you and you guys still went on ahead... i a bunch of 6speeders used to constantly go to malibu canyons and take the roads but due to the crack down they been having in malibu which started few years ago the interest has died down... we warned you guys but you gusy still forged ahead they willgetyou for anything there.. and to be honest if police activity wasnt prominant you guys would have gone faster than the planned leisurely drive int he mountains..
oh well have fun if u guys go again..
