agreed. VERY nice car btw, Got to see what the GT3 will look like with the exception of the center exit for the exhaust.

It was nice to see some fellow Porsches for a bit. It sucks that we got pulled over and hassled, but unfortunately it's nothing new to me. I'm up in those canyons almost every weekend on my motorcycle and some days are just worse than other for cops. Today there were quite a few but still nothing outrageous. We just happened to run into an overzealous CHP officer who had it in for EVERYBODY! Just after he pulled us over and wrote us fix it tickets, he pulled over two of my friends (one in an M5 and one on a bike). This had nothing to do with some conspiracy to target Porsche owners...we're not that important. That particular Chippie pulled over anybody that he could get his hands on! Posting a meeting point for a route is unlikely to get us tracked down and targeted in my opinion as well! I've been on group rides and drives with NSX folks, motorcycycle clubs and even bicycling trips and it's no different! If they want to mess with you, they will! Just have your papers in order,smile and pay the 'fun tax' if you happen to be having too much fun...

Regardless, it was a beautiful day out and I wound up cruising the canyons for a few more hours with an M5, a Ferrari 360 and a few bikes...good times...even after I got a meaningless fix it ticket!

I hope to see you guys out there again, this won't stop me from enjoying the roads that I help support with my hard earned tax dollars. If anybody would like to do another run in the future, public or private, let me know. I've been driving/riding Malibu area canyons roads for about 15 years so I'd be happy to show some folks around sometime!

Oh, and I'm sorry to hear that somebody was towed,...that bites big time. I hope that it is easily resolved.

 

Stop being such a damn bully, mister respected member of the board . Scott's right, I've been running these canyons with Pelican Parts, and after the events a VCR since the past millinium. These are controlled runs that are fun gatherings of enthusiasts, and an opportunity to meet new folks. Yesterday, I met some nice people and went on a fun ride. Like it was stated earlier, they were fixit tickets, no speeding or reckless driving. One of the guys lost his ride (NIce ride), and thats a bummer(let me know if you need a lawyer) . Can't believe the amount of negativity on this board. You can sign me up any time for a run, with this same group of guys. I had fun. We'll do it again.

 

Man now that was an interesting day to say the least. Bottom line is, all of us who went knew that the cops would be there. That's something you just have to deal with no matter where you go driving. Yes for some reason there were an exceptionally large number of cops yesterday but so be it. It was still fun to meet some of the guys and cruise around. The drama added to the fun.
