Bullrun 2007 - Montreal to Key West with VR
Its official! Team Vivid Racing will be running in the 2007 Bullrun from Montreal to Key West. If you have not heard of Bullrun, check out www.bullrun.com. Bullrun is a cannonball style rally filled with Glitz, Glamour, Celebs, Expensive Cars, Parties, and the passion to drive, and to drive fast! Vivid Racing will be attending the Bullrun in it's Porsche 996TT road rally machine.
Having competed in 3 Gumball 3000 rally events, Driver Dan Mermelstein, co-founder of Vivid Racing, will be manning the wheel for the May 11-19 event. The Vivid Racing built Porsche 996TT is equipped with over 500 horsepower and plenty of Rally must haves. Besides the big Brembo brakes, race wheels and tires, Autopower roll cage, and Autometer gauges to watch the beasts vital signs, this car will have all the needed COP deflectors. Valentine Radar Detector, Laser Jammers, Police Scanner, Night Vision, and of course some other hidden James Bond tricks.
Co-Driver Dave Pankew, industry celeb, magazine guru, and "that guy" will be manning the on board navigation as we fly from unknown destination to destination. As Team Vivid Racing moves through the eastern United States, Pankew and Mermel will be documenting the journey through eyes of a contestant to be featured in some hot upcoming auto related and non automotive magazines. We will be posting live coverage and videos as well here on our site at www.myvividracing.com.
With the recent release of the Spike TV reality show on Bullrun, Fox's "Drive", and numerous past DVD's and YouTube videos, this years rally should be, well, INSANE! With a entry fee of $17000+, the cream of the crop will be out to put the rubber to the ground and celebrate life and driving.
Stay tuned here for pics and event coverage as we count down to the start!

Bullrun, based on the international automotive rally, features 12 teams of two drivers who use their own cars in a fast-paced rally that takes them across America in a competition for $200,000 prize money and the 2007 Bullrun Trophy. Hosted by Bill Goldberg. Don’t miss the Series Premiere on Spike TV Tuesday 3/13 at 10p followed by an immediate encore. Airs every Tuesday after that at 10p for 10 weeks. Encores on Thursdays at 11p and Saturdays at 11a

Presenting the Bullrun 1000 – Ok so you don’t have a pile of cash to do the main Bullrun every year…got a car that cost NO MORE than $1,000.00, hell… got a car that’s worth $10.00 or stole it from Grandma? This is your ticket into one of the most unorthodox road rallies in the world – the Bullrun 1000. You may be asking yourself – will there be exotic cars? The answer is simple… who knows? Will it be a Bullrun experience – definitely!
The main focus of the Bullrun 1000 is to totally level the playing field and let all those interested without meg-bucks apply and run a version of the actual Bullrun.
The object is complete the entire rally in a car that cost no more than $1,000.00 to buy – yep, we want to see the Bill of Sale. What you do to the car after that is up to you. Are you ingenious enough to compete on a level playing filed with other Bullrunners? If so, then is your road rally.
The first Bullrun 1000 is set to take place in late summer 2007 – make sure to check back for details.
The route itself won't be disclosed (although will probably get leaked), just the start and finish line.
The Bullrun show on Spike has nothing to do with the Rally (which came first). Spike bought the rights to the name to put the show together although I'm unclear as to what was in it (besides $) for the Rally. Now people are going to be expecting those ridiculous stunts from the Rally because they saw it on the show.

The show is not the best. Bullrun is like many other road rallys. Gumball 3000, Cannonball Run, Players Run. We are doing the big shabang rally. Like Gumball 3000, it is filled with celebs, amazing parties, exotic cars, and the passion to drive! The event does start in Montreal and ends in Key West. We will be doing live updates on www.myvividracing.com. The route has not been given out and is kept under wraps.

I would love to make the trip down to Key West for the ending of this since it is only a few hours away from me. Would it be possible for me to meet up with you guys and see all of the badass cars or is the event very secretive and private? I would love to snap some pictures of all of you when you are driving to the finish!
