991.2 TS sports response button just like kickdown in 991.1 TS??
Hi dear friends of the forum,
To all the 991.2 TS owners in the forum, the sports response button reacts just like pressing the kick down button in the 991.1 TS (on the bottom of the gas pedal) or it's even faster reacting?
Also according to some owners the 991.2 is as fast as the 991.1 with a coob tune (630-650hp). Is that really true?
Thank you for the info 😉

Paulo...Here's stock baseline for both 991.2 TT & TTS from Excellence magazine 6/16 issue. On my '15 991.1 TT Sport button response is instantaneous. Car comes alive - both engine & transmission.
Maybe some 991.2 Cobb owners can chime in to compare.

I owned a 2016 TS and now a 2017 TS. The sport response button is different. At first I thought it was a gimmick but after using it, it's fantastic. It instantly puts you into overboost, ideal gear, rpms over 4500 depending on cruising speed, changes your switchable gauge to the sport response gauge with a countdown clock (20 seconds). It's fantastic. Imagine cruising at 50mph in 7th gear in normal mode, and pressing the button to overtake someone. It's much quicker than than the kickdown which does not change the mode you're in (sport, sport +, etc). During the sport response selection it feels like instantly going to sport + for 20 seconds. It's fun. Knight Rideresque...
991.1 = normal, sport, sport +
992.2 = normal, sport, sport + (yet its drivable and doesnt wind out to redline even when you're not WOT), Sport Response (ON DEMAND 20 seconds)
so you can actually drive the car now in sport + in "automatic" mode and won't hold all the way to redline and have u feel like u need to paddle shift it to lower RPMS
make sense?
I am not sure if sport response actually increases boost.
It FEELS like the car just has a PORSCHE stage 2 on it if that makes sense smoother than any giac or cobb car I've driven.
I am really smitten with this car compared to my '14 i immediately got out of

It also alters the VTG geometry for faster spool, speeds up shift time and in auto models selects the most appropriate gear for fastest acceleration. Here is my stock baseline data thread. Yes the .2 appears to be a good bit faster than the .1 . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...31-26-mph.html

That's a personal question...but I wouldn't make the jump for 1 feature although it is very cool and useful.
It's not the jump the 997.1 to 997.2 was, but cumulatively it's a significant improvement if the improvement points push your buttons. No pun intended.
