Has anyone driven both? Any likes/dislikes? Thoughts?

I have not the Aston but got to drive the Maseratti for the first time. I have never been a Maseratti fan ever. After that drive I would add it to my list of cars to own for sure. It was wonderful.

Very hard decision to make, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Comes down to personal choice in the end.

Maserati sounds better and looks more feminine

Db9 is heavier and revs lower. It is a gentleman so car.

maser can be driven on weekend group drives but I am not sure abt db9

The maserati was less fun then I expected it to be, this coming from a long time owner of many porsches, it felt like driving a lexus with more power though had a bit of a cheap feel to it.... its been a while since I last drive a DB9, the one thing I remember was the suspension was very stiff, though the engine sounded good (who does not like a V12). If I had to pick it would be the DB9, hands down, looks better and even with the hard ride I still felt better driving it

DB9 would be more costly on maintenance and up keep. Newer years GTs are quite reliable. I wouldn't consider a 4.2 vs a DB9 only 4.7L GTs or a MC Stradale.

The GT isn't the most performant car but it has a presence unlike anything of it class and Stradale are going for bargain prices these days even a 12+ Sport is 460hp and a much better car than a 4.2 for little more money if you shop right.

Surprisingly enough, I was in the same boat as you. At first my choices were V8 Vantage, DB9, GranTurismo, and Bentley Continental GT.

Narrowed it down between the DB9 and GranTurismo and drove both. Immediately fell in love with the Masi. The Aston was clean, excellent color combo and had the clear tail lights. Awesome sounding V12...but in my opinion felt a bit dull. I went with the Maserati and I'm so happy I did. You get the Italian flare and way better sound than you would from the DB9's V12, way more comfort, awesome look (literally not one bad angle on the car).

It can be a super comfortable and luxurious Gran Tourer when you want it to be, and it can be a road warrior by putting it into sport mode (sharpens throttle, stiffens the Skyhook suspension, and quickens shifts), use the paddles as you wish and it'll throw you back into your seat. Way more of a looker than the DB9 in my opinion. To clarify, not knocking on the Aston at all, just saying between the two, the Masi wins in my book.

The only advantage I see with both cars is that they have the ZF transmission.

Hope this helped.
