Quickjack 7000SLX
I recently purchased a MaxJax after a lot of research. This issue (low clearance) on our cars was a major deal breaker. Price was in a similar range with a lot more height options. I recently used it to service my car with no problems. I installed the posts 130" apart and made sure I distributed the weight accordingly. It gives me lots of room to work and perform any engine-out services if required. Pics attached. Excuse the mess in my garage - working on a reno for it this summer.

The QuickJack is beneficial for users who don't have garage space to permanently commit space to a lift. That's the only reason why I'm looking at it, because I'd be able to roll them out and away when I want. No drilling into the concrete or anything.
Maxjax is mobile - has wheels attached to each post so you can unbolt from the floor and move them out of the way. Minimum 4" thick concrete required - each post has 5 anchors and each anchor is rated to hold 9000lbs each.
I really need to buy another house with a 3rd garage bay

You drill a pilot hole and drop a string with a small hook where it will catch the bottom and measure how far down it went . Maxjax requires a 5" minimum concrete thickness and residence code is at 3.5". I was seriously looking at a maxjax but they couldn't guarantee me concrete thickness below 5" to hold its max capacity. Since I lift up to 7000lb SUVs , I cannot risk pushing it to its limit with 3-4" concrete thickness.
For now, I think I'll still look into investing in the QuickJack. It doesn't require drilling, it is portable to store away/move around and it gets higher than just a standard jack stands which is a plus. Whenever I buy my forever home, then I'll invest in a true 2 post lift.
There is a local guy selling a 5000SLX for $950 but when I look at the pictures, it seems to have a different locking mechanism. This one seems to be the older kind where you drop the bar down into 1 of the 2 locking positions. The current locking mechanism seems to have a different system.
Is there anything else different between these two? Is it worth spending the money for the most recent model?

I ended up picking up the Quickjack. He was selling the BL5000-XL and not the SLX. From my research, it seemed as though the only difference with the SLX model is that it had a different locking mechanism. He demo'd it on my Mazdaspeed3 and it worked so I took it.
Unfortunately, he was missing the frame positioning handle, which wasn't a big problem, but I ordered one anyway ($40).
Additionally, he only had 2 of the short rubber blocks. I knew those would be the ones I'd need to use on my Porsche but I continued with the transaction anyway and hope when I tested it at home it'd work with the large blocks. Yep, wasn't going to work, so I just ordered a set of the short rubber blocks ($68).
Here it is working on my Mazdaspeed and I'm hoping it works fine with the Turbo once I get the short blocks in.
