Question on 2013 991 Carrera S? for sale with Carrio

Year: 2013
Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Price: $79998
Mileage: 18300
Color: Mahogany
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): FL
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

Question on this ad:

https://www.carriomotorcars.com/used-Fort+Lauderdale-2013-Porsche-911-Carrera-WP0CA2A94DS140825

I’m interested in possibly purchasing this car. If this is just a standard Carrera, why would it have “Carrera S” badging?

Not sure exactly which section this should be posted in, if the mods could move this to the proper section if it’s in the wrong section that would be greatly appreciated!

Probably the wrong section. But to answer your question probably because the original owner added the badge for some reason. Judging by the exhaust and carfax this is indeed a non-S. See also vin analytics with options

Non S car, it is a 3.4L engine with non S brakes. Someone just bought an S and glued it to the back. Easy to remove if you buy the car.

Thanks guys for all of the quick responses!

I’ll probably pass on this car. Like you said, even though it’s just a regular Carrera, it’s priced like a Carrera S. Also, with the deceptive badging, who knows what else the seller isn’t being quite truthful of. It could have just been a mistake, and it could have come to the dealer with the false badging. Either way, it doesn’t leave me with a great feeling about the car!

Carrio also seems like a pretty ******* dealer that gets a lot of "stories" cars.
