Vendor directory
Here is a perfect example of why we need Vendor specific classifieds for each sponsor. Posted in both the 997TT and 996TT section. Same thing, different car. Its pushing the rules cause there is no prices? But really it is a for sale ad.

Vendors need to be kept seperated from General topics in regards to product promotion. Please input a Vendor Section for product promotion like on www.rx8club.com. I am speaking up for people as well as myself who will not post up.

I have already admitted that I do it do cause there is a "fine line" that vendors play to keep it in the general section. Everyone is guilty. I would like to have my own VividRacing section next to your own Sharkwerks section in a vendor classifieds for ALL vehicles like on www.rx8club.com. Sometimes I post in the general and it is moved when it should not be. Your the moderator not me...
End of the day, your playing the game too. General section should be kept for discussions, but new products, vendor PR, etc should be seperated. I am sure as I have been told sponsors are "easy to come by" but those of us like yourself add ALOT of value with support to users.
And mine are NOT double posts. You should not have to double post. If a wheel vendor wants to show off a new wheel that fits Porsche, Lambo, and Audi, he/she should not have to post it in EVERY section. It looks messy and is repeat content. You have your faithful followers and with your own Sharkwerks section you would have great discussions and questions to people commenting. Me too. It will keep the crap out of the middle where first time user Joe does not get overwhelmed with vendors. How could you be a Ferrari or a Audi vendor on the site, where do you post classifieds?????? Think about it.

The 996TT/997TT is _not_ a double post. The transmission ECU is the same as is the transmission itself on the Tip 996TT and 997TT. Hence it's useful to those guys too.
I say we just try it for a month or two. There will be no need to bump threads and the customer can still click the various names and see what everyone has to offer.
I noticed that one vendor posted up 14 separate threads with the EXACT same content simply "making people aware of their existence." I would much rather see their own section with just 1 thread. There is no need to pollute the forums with the same thread in different sections. If someone wants something, they will look for it.
There was an old vendor that posted up picture of Porsches with their wheels in the Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc sections. Forum members found this annoying and the company continued to do it anyways.
With this new section in place, this will leave the general sections for threads such as product reviews and customer car photos posted by vendors as well as the normal day-to-day threads made by members.
I'm not sure where new product announcements fall. There is a fine line between announcing a new product to the community while explaining the function and benefits and then selling the new part. It would be fine if the vendor simply posted up the item as an informative thread without making the sales pitch. If a customer wants it, they will contact you.

This idea would only work if new sponsor threads would be omitted from showing up when a user logs into 6speed and clicks the "new posts" button. (Like most people do when they come in here) Otherwise, nothing changes. The sponsors that abuse, bump threads and overpost will still be right there.
If they have their own section, people that are interested in looking at that sponsors stuff can click in their section and look at it.

I have never used the "New Posts" section more then twice on any forum I am on. I usually go to what I want to read. So I dont know if it is most users. But I agree with you on people bumping them and they would show up in New Posts. This is a parameter that can be changed in the VBulletin Admin to not have the proposed Vendor forum show up. I COMPLETELY agree with you in the last sentence. If you do a good job at marketing, have good posts, etc, people will want to come to your section and read your stuff. If you want to come here for a "community" atmosphere and not have sponsor stuff in your face, then you ignore the classified section. That is how it is on most other boards.
2 more examples of why we need Vendor Classifieds.

Another wheel company just posting anything not even picture related to the 997TT - https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-industry.html
