I thought that was VG, just wasnt sure. Werent you supposed to take GSR? Was the road in poor shape or decided against it?

initial plan was to take GMR, old baldy cutoff and then mt baldy but decided against it. old baldy cutoff is really dirty with no double yellow or single white center lines. last time i rode that road was with my R1 and a guy in our group lowsided his brand new gsxr1000 (non-novice rider). i think that road is best for bicycles.

I used to run that road with a bike group (Prime Xample) as well. I had a modded ZX9R and a guy on a GXSR1000 locked his keys up in the steering damper and slammed into the hillside. Not a pretty site. That was a few years ago and havent been back since. I still make an occasional run up Baldy with both my bike, now a ZX14, and my car.
My avitar pic was taken up at Baldy. The creek is running just to the right of it, not shown in pic.
