We have at least 10 confirmed people and 10 others will just show up on that day. See you all on Saturday.

 

Aye, overnight this show has been ruined. Hopefuly the organizers will re-think the change.

 

That is such a stupid decision, I get tired of looking at the same old cars over and over again, what makes me excited is seeing some new exotics which are fresh out of the factory...

quality of the show has really gone down anyway. and it starts way too early. the OC crew will just need to find a new location

its true, but yes, last week was normal, I had my silver 997TT there.

 

Wow such BS. Now I am going to drive my car there one of these days and watch them try to stop me...

This event was originally Crystal Cove which was started by people from a couple car forums (including this one) to meet up. Now the organizers dictate who can and cannot show their car... lame.

 

This is all a hunch, but I believe that the rule is pre-1978 cars get in no questions asks and that newer cars have to be checked if they are cars of interests, like exotics obviously. The problem is that a bunch of everyday cars were taking up excessive space preventing special cars from getting in the lot, so now the organizers are going to check some of these more common cars to see if they are show worthy or not. So I thinks that modern Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis etc. will still be allowed in but cars like Mustangs, Supras, BMWs etc. will be checked at the front.

 

"show quality" is so subjective, and personally i like the newer cars that show up. To each their own but car clubs like the classic Jaguar club IMO take up space from cars i like to see. The new rule says that those not allowed in the main lot, will be directed to the spectator lot. My guess is the spectator lot is gonna get a whole lot cooler, and just maybe will turn into the main attraction. That event is much more than the cars for me, it was the people and interaction with fellow enthusiast.
