So We're staying down on Hilton Head Island this week... Got here Friday night (the 8th). So far we've gone north to Charlston, which we didn't particularly like. Old town was nice, but the rest of the city didn't seem to have that charm we love when we go to Savannah.

Sunday we headed down to Savannah and walked around doing house tours of some of the historic older homes... Then we grabbed lunch down on River Street and had a nice elaxing afternoon...

Monday we headed south to Bruswick. I hadn't been ro Brunswick since I attended the FLETC academy in 1986. Man has that place changed. I took the wife over to St. Simon Island where she fell in love with the place... We had lunch and then walked around down by the lighthouse and the docks.

So today we're just knocking around Hilton Head. We didn't bring the Porsche, since it is getting a new clutch installed on Monday the 18th of Feb. We're beating around in the Bimmer.

So the reason for this post is...

We are thinking of buying a second home in the next year or so. We love Savannah, and she certainly enjoyed the Brunswick area... Any other recommendations of places to check out while we're here? My only stipulation is being able to get to road race courses. We drove out to Roebling Road yesterday and saw some cars zipping around the track, but didn't see a way in past the gate, since it was closed. I hadn't been there in a long time and couldn't get the attention of anyone running the event. I know that Road Atlanta is a few hourse west, and then there's Sebring and the other Florida tracks to the South.

We really enjoy it when we come down to this area, so any advice from you locals of places to check out would be great... And especially places to consider part time residence...
