Mountain Run to Skyway and Tail of the Dragon-Sunday, August 12th

Thought I posted this here, but I guess I did not.

Hey guys, we are going to go up to the mountains again. This time, we are going to head up to the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon.

Let me know if you are interested in going, here is a link to the run last month and the Facebook event for this run (you might have to be my friend before it opens so just send me a PM or post here for details).

Yes this one is from 8:00am-10:00am. way early to come from Atl. I figured you might run the route the opposite of us. Have a great trip the weather should be wonderful especially with top down.

Look for the Black Bentley GTC going the other way, that's me.

What route are you running? We are going to hit the Skyway first, then hit the Dragon coming from Robbinsville back towards TN.

Ill be in a 997 Turbo, but we will have a couple of R8s, a couple of other P Cars, a couple of GTRs, a couple of NSXs, a ZR1, couple Lotuses, and a handful of other cars too. Should be fun.

Roger that but it was at the end of 143. I saw your hand out the top and I stuck mine up. I did a quick u-turn and caught the tail of the pack hoping that you would stop at that store on the left when you got to 129. I did pull over to the left to see about half of the pack roar out from the stop sign. Glorious noise!

My daughter and I were able to get some good corners and speed at times on both roads. Maybe we will cross paths again sometime?

For curiostity what do you think the mean age of your group was? I am a 52 y/o dentist what are your stats? Did you have any 20 y/o's and any in the 60's? Are you all a club? Why only you on this thread?

If you got time to answer all that?

Mel

Sure! We like to get up to the Mtns pretty often and I try to start a thread here when we do. I will also post the pictures when they are up (later this week).

We ended up with 25 cars that came out. I would say the median age of the owners is Mid to Late 20s (but a very mature group with some very nice cars). We do have a couple of older gentlemen that come out as well. We had a great run through the Cherohala Skyway and the Dragon was nice as well (a little more traffic than I would have liked). We stopped at the top of 129 to eat at the restaurant, then we finished running the dragon and drove back down 411 to GA.

As far as me, I am 25. We aren't necessarily a club of any sort, just a group of friends. The way it originally started was a couple of months ago, I bought my 997TT and my buddy bought his R8 in the same week so we decided that we were going to head up to the North Georgia mountains. I sent a few text messages to some friends and we ended up with 15 cars that came out including quite a few exotics. Last week, we decided we were going to do it again so I sent out a few more text messages to some friends and started a couple threads.

As far as why I am the only one in this thread, I have no idea haha. I am not the only person that goes on the runs that is a member of this board. Quite a few people send me PMs when I start these threads.

Sorry to be a bother but what restaurant did you stop at? I was at the one where 143 intersects 129(Robbinsville) and you did not stop.

Damn I'm impressed to see the young guns with such high quality cars.

Not a bother at all! We stopped at the restaurant up on the top of the dragon (the one that is mostly motorcycles).

Miss J is infamous around these parts
A friend and I almost came out but I've been pretty sick for the past week and a half and did not feel like getting up at 6am. Hopefully I can join the next one. A other few friends went and had a good time.
