Keep them under 40lbs hot. You will probably gain around 6-8 from cold maybe more depending on how hard you drive.

I'm a pansy, they'll probably cool off from me driving them

I generally run them at 36 front and 44 rear. Maybe I'll drop it to 32-38. It's weird that the PCA site says to run them five pounds higher....

If you are going to the Suncoast PCA autoX in Zephr....get with Danny Sheilds and Ralph Carr there. They will help you out.

I saw what the PCA site says too and it makes zero sence. I know for a fact that street tires for the 996/997 get slippery about 40lbs hot. I run my streets at 33/39 cold per the book and that is mostly to help save the rim if I run over a pot hole.

The tech guy said to run them a little high so you don't chew the tires up. I can see doing that on the street, but I dropped them for the course. I'll sacrifice a little tire for that type of event.

Tires dont usually get hot enough at Auto X's. After a couple runs drop them down to the recommended pressure.

I ran my Pzeros (997C2S)around 30f and 34r hot if I remember correctly. When I put the Ho Hos on it I ran them at 36/38 because of the limited neg camber on the car. Keep an eye on the outer part of your tread. Helps to chaulk some radial stripes so you can see how far you roll onto the edges of the tire. High pressures make your tires last longer but it is like driving with billiard ***** back there and the car will skitter a lot. I run my A6s at 34f/36r hot with my RS.

I have another one this weekend. We have the BMW Porsche challenge in Brooksville Florida. I'll try dropping my pressures some this time.

I bleed after every run and have to pump up after coming in from my work assignment to start the afternoon runs. I also spray water on my tires to keep them cool because very hot Hooters can get very greasy. Street tires don't need that though. Turn early and attack the back of the cone. Look for the sets of elements where you can keep the power on for the longest perion of time. LOOK AHEAD!!! Also pay attention to the space between the cones because that is sometimes where the apex is. If your club counts only your fastest time, or averages the fastest AM and PM times, do a milk run with an instructor. This is a low speed (very painfull for us males) run where the instructor has enough time to point out where to lay the power on and where to F'N GIVE IT UP!!

If autocross was easy they would call it road racing. Factory Five sent 3 of their factory road course drivers and cars to one of our local events a few weeks ago. They got hosed bad. None of them came close to placing. Some even got beat by kids driving their street cars on street tires.
