Another question that will be answered is whether the oiling system will be able to pump up the lifter/hydraulics and variable cam timing, at that RPM-10,000.. I'm glad you are doing it... Crank looks good!
Kevin,

If it doesn't work, then we will lower the rpm's or change the crank. We have an identical crank with the stock stroke ready to go. The real interesting part will be the smaller 2.0 inch journals. You know what we are using for the oil pump. ;) I fell pretty comfortable with that.

Stephen,

We will be posting a pic of the lifters soon. :) We hope these one off lifters will do the trick. ;) We did stay with hydralics though.

As an update here is a comparison of the Woosner pistons and the stock pistons.

Here is a pic of the pump Stephen is refering to. It required a little machine work to install and connect the drive. This pump is alot different than the GT3 pump. The current cost of this pump is in excess of 6K.

One of the successful LeMans winners uses this company's pistons. That is how I learned about them. One of the bigger tuners/part sellers also repackages some of their product. More information can be found at www.woessner-kolben.de

Stephen,

I hope you are right. We are definitely trying some things that may or may not work. I'm sure there will be some adjustments as we proceed.

What is your opinion on the smaller (2.00-1.99 inch rod journals) and the oval bearings? Please speak freely. I value your opinion.

S Car Go promised me pics of the Pauter rods which recently arrived. It looks like I won't receive the pics until Monday due to the Thanksgiving Holiday's. Wait until you see these rods! :)

You and I both have the same disease. :) I am not sure if we will ever stop trying new things to make more and more power. Its funny to think that the 600 RWHP was the goal a few years ago. Now its 1000 RWHP maybe 2 years from now we will be looking for 1500 hilarious

Todd,

Your probably right. We don't know where our current motor will end up. The real question in my mind is what is, what is the ideal power delta for a "street" 996tt and at what bar? At some point the street suffers at the expense of race and visa versa.

I believe the most exciting mode is yet to come. That mode will arrive when all the PSM thrusholds can be modified by a tuner. :)

Here are the pics of the special Pauter rods. :D

These rods were designed for "oval bearings" and smaller journals. In addition they have two oil holes @ the wrist pins and smaller, lighter wrist pins. These rods are designed for 10,000 rpms and 1400 hp. :)
