KA will be back together by January 10th. We plan to attempt to better a few standing records. Weather we break them or not, we don't intend to make any more major engine changes. We do intend to persue being able to modify the PSM parameters. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the car's development.

Today we are going to finish the mock up the second engine with the new cams to determine if the Woosner pistons need to be fly cut. I hope to have some pics soon. :)

We are going to have to eyebrow the pistons a little more as the valves need some additional clearance. :o

Just received some encouraging news from Pauter. The rods will be delivered about two weeks early. :D We will have them in our hands before the end of this month. :)

Here are some pics of the stock valves versus the custom order GT3 Cup valves. These custom valves are made of inconel, monel and a certain nitronic material. The valves are capable of withstanding 14,000 rpm's and temperatures developed in a funny car.

As a comparison, the approximate valve size of the stock turbo is 32 mm for the exhaust and 37 mm for the intake. The GT3 Cup heads use approx. 35.5 mm exhaust and 41 mm intake. The valves have 6 mm stems and overall lenght is just under 113 mm. The radius at the bottom of the valve has also been modified to accomodate even better flow and breathing. The face of these valves are dished versus flat for the stock valves.

OK, she is coming together. The rods arrived today. :D Here are some pics of the crank. The c/s was welded and stroked 1mm. The rod journals were ground to 2.000-1.999 inches. It was knife edged, nitrided, cross drilled, cryo treated, maged and balanced. With 102 mm pistons and 1mm stroke the engines displacement will be 4.0 L.

Regardless of oiling my concern is the lifters holding at 10K RPM. I am sure the GT1 pump will keep pressure steady, but those lifters were never rated for that type of RPM. I personally would worry about that or change them out.
