Front end was recently shaved and suspension is FK Silverline x's. The current setting is geared for subframe suicide.

Corvette wheels?

 

Yessir. They are corvette fitment from a C5 Z06. I am using 22mm adapters to convert back to the 5x112 bolt pattern.

 

Interesting, I like it. I bet the z06 motorsport replicas would look badass. black with chrome rivets.

Those are probably not far off as these are 17x8.5 reproductions (IIRC no OEM wheels exists in that size) and they 9.5's at that offset would not work.

It's not uncommon for VW drivers to slip on wheels from a different make. You usually see the Corvette sawblades more often, other common wheels are from a Mercedes, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maybach etc. that are all 5x112 naturally and then Porsche wheels with adapters from 5x130.

These current wheels are on their way out most likely.
