VW XL1 spotted -makes 261 mpg
spotted in northern europe, arrival: late 2013/beginning 2014
The long-awaited 1-liter car has finally been confirmed for production and here are the first shots of a prototype testing to prove it.
Surprisingly it is not wearing any camouflage to hide any of its styling elements, so immediately we get to see the production model in its full glory.
The futuristic lightweight 2-seater (gullwing doors) is expected to produce some quite astonishing fuel economy and emissions figures.
The plug in diesel hybrid was reported to emit just 24g/km of CO2 gases and can go 100 km on just 0.9-liters of fuel (261mpg).

lol yeah it´s like "how small can we make the wheels, to get the max. out of fuel consumption and the minimum safety as far as grip is concerned."
i guess it will not be cheap, my guess is around 40k€.
but don`t quote me on that!

i doubt they would finish it with wheels like that. it looks like they've taken a lot of pride in building it so i dare say they will be a little bigger and at least flush with the body. i bet they were just for snow testing
