New tires for the DE season: MPSC, R888s or NT01s?

Looking for some thoughts on tires for this DE season. I ran MPSCs last year which I liked and I feel like I can get 6-7 events out of them plus driving to & fro. They're pretty crummy in the wet but I can live with it.

Anyone run MPSCs and can offer some comparison to Toyo R888s and Nitto NT01s? As far as ease, TireRack as MPSCs....the others are seemingly harder to find.

Car is a modded 997TT as per sig. TIA for thoughts.

I ran BFG R1's this past year on my E46 M3 and plan to try NT-01's this year. I am going to order in the next month or so. They are essentially the same compound as the R888 but less expensive. All of the reviews say they are a great tire.

Check out Discount Tire Direct for pricing on the Nitto and Toyo tires. They are great and offer free shipping and price matching. Very reputable company.

I run 888 because the 18" sizes they have from my 997S are spot on. The NT01 does not have the sizes I need however the NT01 is a great DE tire.

I run 18" nt01s on the front and the R555 (305) on the rears. My opinion is that the tire is very responsive and you can feel them when they start to slip. One nice thing about the nt01s is that when the outside starts to scuff, you can reverse them even though they are directional.

However.......................they are useless in wet conditions.

I have run into a couple of other track guys that run them and they are absolutely sold on the nt01s.

I am interested in hearing anyone that has run on the nto5 as well.

I've been through 2 sets of NT-01's with a 996 turbo. Of the ones you mentioned with your thread starter, I feel they are the best, all things considered. Drove them on the street and on the track. They are fair in the wet but if you come upon standing water better be ready for a bad ride.

I have toyo R888. My car is a 997S. I'm very happy with the tires. They are very good on the track. Once you find the right pressure they are spectacular. However, they are very noisy. It is the only disadvantage. I can't comment on the other tires.

i just ran an amazing and cold DE day. r888's. VERY NOISY : > As they got hot, about 10 aggressive laps in at limerock i felt they were getting slippery. Ran 37 lbs of pressure when hot. Otherwise predictable and more grippy then my previous cup tires from what i can recall...

update = town fair is allowing me to return the toyos 100% no problem in exchange for nt01's, forums stating nt01's will be quieter, the toyos are loud, whining noise from the large v-groves. i am going to 315 / 235
