Looking for some DE tires...street capable...

Hi. I have a Porsche 996TT, 8" and 11" hollowspoke spare wheels....

Lowered to gt2 hight.

Anyone have thoughts on:

AD08's in 295/225....

Kumho XS ins 315/235 (gt2) sizing (rubbing???)

Falken 615K's?

When are the Michelin SuperSports coming...and will they finally get a nice price to us?

Thanks.

The Kumho's get good marks and probably don't get damaged by cold temps....my garage might get under 14F.

I'm looking at the same thing. So far my understanding is 5mm spacers may be required. I think I am going with the Kumhos. I used to track the RT-615's on my STI and loved them. I figure it may be worth trying something different. Great prices on both those tires as well.

tofunin is infamous around these parts
I'd suggest a couple more tires like 285/245 Hankook R-S3(245 is the smallest they make in 18s), 295/225 Nitto NT-05,and 275/225 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec(Tire Rack exclusive now lacks anything 285+). All great dual purpose tires except when in the wet obviously. I had RT-615s on my M3 and I wasn't that impressed with them as I overheated them which made them greasy.

If you were to choose on the list, I would go with the Yokohama Neova AD-08s as they have one of sharpest steering response for a tire. I have heard nothing bad from them other than the price tag per tire.

Not worth it for the price they are. They need 1 or 2 heat cycles and then left alone for 24 hours to cure so they work optimally. I would rather use the Nitto NT-05 or Hankook RS-3.

How do the kuhmo tires perform compared to the others aside from price? I have no experience with them. Are any of these tire mentioned in the thread comparable to r-compound tires performance and grip like the nt-01 and r888 (fully heat cycled)?

Thoughts and experiences?

Have not used any of the other tires mentioned in this thread. The Kuhmos are a tire that I can drive to the track, get good traction, (I run in the Instructor group), and drive home. Some of the club racers use them for rain tires.
Price is good on them, and I usually get 10 track days from one set.
My car is a light 87 911, your wear may vary.
