Max wheel width and offset for narrow body?

What's the most aggressive (i.e. widest) width and maximum offset you guys have done to a narrow body 996 without rubbing? I'd like to hear some of your experiences, and pictures would be nice too. I've seen some pretty wide lips on narrow bodies. Who's got the most aggressive setup?

According to Lucent, max rear width is 11". Most people go with 8.5" in front. I prefer to stick with 8" in order to avoid spacers.

for the street i will not run anything more aggressive than ET52 on a 11''. that's for the rear of course. a ET56 or anything around there would be ideal.

Agree. Have had my fair share of headaches from people who insist on using widebody fitments and thinking a fender roll job is all they need to make it fit.

Are you saying that we (996 narrow body owners) can fit a 11" wide riim on the rear? As for myself I have been wanting to put a set of wide 18"s As long as I need not roll my fenders. But with many of us, we do not want to buy a expensive set and not be able to fit them in place.

But 20C4S statedthat anything between a 11" ET52-56 will fit on the rear of a narrow body. Is this correct?

Thanks much
Mark

mark,
to answer ur first question, the 996 GT3 has 18x11 wheel in the rear with ET63 offset. so the 11'' will fit but u'll need to roll the fender. rolling the fender is not a big deal as long as u find the right place that has the right tool.

i'm always careful on my replies because i don't want to give people wrong infomation. on ur second question, yes anything between ET52 - 56 will fit but it's not a bolt-on fit. couple factors that will change the result such as ur current ride height, camber, fender. the car needs to be dialed right to look right & drive right. for example, if u just slap on a 11'' wide wheel with 305/25-19 tire without changing the alignment set up the wheel/tire will stick out of the fender about 1/4'' to 1/2''.

I was eyeing them before, but I really do not want to do the centerlock conversion.
Good luck and someone is going to get a great deal!

For most narrowbody 996 cars, you can typically run a 11" with et 58-65 and the 305/25/19 with no issues. If the ET between is 52-58 some minor adjustments may be needed like Arling said, camber/alignment and/or fender rolling, if the car is lowered. With factory height it is usually not an issue.

I am also in agreement that the et52 would be as aggressive as I would go on a 11" wheel - this is the TechArt Formula fitment.

Would these fit:
Front: 8.5J x 19 with 235/35 ZR 19 tires, wheel offset: 55 mm. Rear: 11.5J x 19 with 305/30 ZR 19 tires, wheel offset 67 mm.

Note the 11.5 rears ?
