997.2 S to a 991 S. Pull the trigger?
I'd love some thoughts on this topic.
I have an '09 997.2S Cab with 28k miles in pristine condition. I'm starting to get the itch to move into a '13 or '14 low milage 991 S Cab. Might even consider a 4S.
My current car is under CPO until 12/15. So given that it seems like I'm starting to get to time to sell.
ROUGHLY...I'm guessing I'd get $55k for my car and a new one will be ROUGHLY $95k..a $40k.
Worth it?
Any words to the wise would be much appreciated.

Same here-- just traded in my '05 997.1 C2 Cab with 48k miles for a 2013 4S Cab with 6500 miles.
I think i worked a pretty good deal -- $137k MSRP for $99k (including all dealer fees and tags and shipping both ways from ATL to NYC area), along with $34k on my trade (which is atleast $4k higher than any other offer i got) -- deal was through a Merc Benz dealership in Atlanta which who just didn't want a $100k non MB sitting around i guess
Can't wait for car to arrive in NY on Monday !

Do it, you won't regret it.
Came from a 2011 997.2 C4s to a 991 C2S,.....the 997 was great, the 991 is phenomenal.
It's not that it is massively better on any front,...it's markedly better on all fronts IMO.
Typical Porsche evolution.

Drive the 991 -- only you can answer your own question. The 991 is a major evolution of the line from a 997, but as always, some good things are lost in the face of progress and change.

I went from the .1 to the (not immediately) .2 to a new Sport Design 991S 10 months ago and the differences are exponential. I was concerned with the loss of the Porsche "feel" reading the comments from the purists, but for me it was the right decision - honestly, I went in for a car wash and left with the 991 after a test drive while I waited (don't recommend a test drive unless you're ready ). As a daily, the 991 has been my favorite of all the brands I've owned and I get bored quickly! Its that good to me and those that ride with me. It has even calmed my desire to blow more dollars on the new turbo S (for now).
Good luck,

I decided to browse here on the 991 forum for the first time. I've been active on the 997 forum for almost 8 years, but sold my 06 C2S cab last June and had a Macan S delivered in September, so haven't been here on 6speed much over the past year.
I love the Macan, which is much more versatile and comfortable (quiet and roomy) for longer trips, but I still find myself missing the 911 once in a while. I'm considering the possibility of adding another 911 to the garage if I can swing it financially. I saw a sweet 2012 997.2 Targa 4S for sale, which got me going a little. I had a 997.1 T4S up to late 2009 and loved it, and it would be a better fit here in the Pacific Northwest than my cab was. I expanded my search to used 991 C2 coupes, and there are some decent deals on them now too.
I found the numerous comments on this thread from folks that have had 997.1 and 997.2 cars to be interesting, since I was curious if the 991 was really significantly better than the 997.1 and 997.2. Most comments suggest it is. I know how amazing the PDK is, as I have it in my Macan and love it. But I always loved the stick-shifts in my other 997.1 cars (2 S cabs and the T4S) too. Is the 991 quieter on the road? I found the 997's to have very loud cabin noise when on the coarse freeways here in Washington state.
Anyway, any other comments/opinions on comparison of 991 to 997.2 would be appreciated.
