Crackle and Pops with deceleration

Crackle and Pops with deceleration
I recently got an AWE exhaust, and I love the sound.
What causes the car to "crackle and pop" when decelerating, or simply backing off on the accelerator? Specially in the higher RPMs.
Just wondering if too much of it is bad for the car....

Yeah, that is all normal. PAG actually engineered the crackle & pops into the sound "experience" especially with PSE and S cars in sport/sport+ modes. Not sure the 3.4 cars do this? I also notice in my 4S in "standard" mode there is almost none of this sound on decel. But I drive around most of the time in S+ mode....

I apparently do not get the full PSE treatment while driving. I was at an CP PCA Auto Xross in Hershey, PA last weekend and a few of my Reisentoter buddies came up to me after my runs to tell me how much they liked the exhaust sound from by C2.
Apparently, it's quite loud under hard acceleration and deceleration.

Porsche spent a lot of time engineering those sounds with the injection and valve timing. The only harm is grinning to hard. If you like the sound inside the car, get someone else to drive and follow them- its epic!
