OBD II readiness?

Okay so I have had this on going issue of not being able to pass emmissions with my car. The problem is that my obd II is not showing readiness. I have driven the car close to a 1000 miles this weekend and still no luck. Is there anyway to use the durametric tool to set the car in ready mode or another procedure in order to have the car ready to test. I need to either pass or fail. Even if I fail I can get a waiver but since the system is not ready I am getting rejected. The 3 systems that are not ready is:
1) cat conv.
2)o2 heater
3) secondary air.

I have had several shops check for hardware issues and none found anything. Tony at EPL said its not in his tune. So now what? Has anyone else experienced this?

I had this happen on my e46 with an AA kit. Basically, some tuners shut off the o2 monitoring (where the ecu adjusts fuel based on o2 sensor reading). They rely on the map, otherwise the car will run too rich / lean, etc.

I had it turned back on for emissions, car ran pig rich, then disabled it again afterward and all was well.

Not sure if it's the same case with EPL or the 996 in general, but it sounds very similar.

I asked Tony at epl about this. He claims that none of those things are shut off.

No disrespect to Tony, but he told me the same thing.I verified readniness prior to the flash & all 5 monitors were ready & passed. After flash-only 2 monitors ready & passed-did full tank,in town, freeway driving, overnight etc-could not get readiness.Took a couple of calls to convince them.

daytrip00 is on a distinguished road
I had this issue on my stock tune. What you're going to have to do (or at least what I had to do) is go through a few drive cycles. Here's the one I used:

BMW Drive Cycle

The thing you'll have to do is keep your revs below 3000 rpm. It's excruciatingly painful, but that should make it work. I've driven 2000 miles without my Cats being ready because going above 3000 revs cancels the cycle. The other thing, for your secondary air, start it up and let it idle for a couple minutes before you drive (again keeping the revs below 3000 rpm). For the O2 sensors, let it idle for a few minutes before you shut it down.

This is what i had to do after having the battery disconnected when I had to get it smogged. I hope this helps!

I think it is the tune too. Tony wants me to ship the car back to him but that’s not exactly in my budget nor do I think that the shops that have looked into my cars are incapable of fixing any hardware issues (AMS, Eurosport, Underground Auto, Barrington motorwerks).

I took the car this morning to try to test it again the guy was nice and did it again. Once again system is not ready because it says those three systems are, "not supported!"

I am having my car retuned on Monday. Hopefully he can set it so that it passes. I will try to do the drive cycle once again as recommended for BWM.

Thank you guys for your feedback. I am open to any other suggestions, I have to get this car registered.

Just pull your ECM & ship it.It's not that hard to remove & can be programmed w/o the car.I did mine this way

I can just have EPL send the file to AMS and have them just flash it. However, I need epl to agree that something with the tune can be changed to allow it to be ready.
